What about Fred Atraire and his candle-lit diners?
yes diners not dinners. his guests are candle lit, alas, he himself is not.

Dog Star Man posts this topic yesterday
i am going to bomb schipol airport so I gave him bad rep... Dude mock-posts topics that they are gonna commit terrorism and then says I have a screw loose? the irony! You're irresponsible, plain and simple, and I don't think this board needs that kind of possible attention from authorities because of your brand of flippant, ignorant goofiness. And the people that responded to his dumb thread are almost as stupid as he is. |

From the stories I have read, people have gotten visits from agents for less than what you did. Keep that in mind so that there won't be a next time.

Last week I was at the door outside a bar and when the doorman asked me to check my bag I told him to be careful because I had a bomb in it. Needless to say, he didn't see the funny side to that and refused me and my friends entry to the bar. Like someone who was about to put a bomb in bar would tell you that they were about to do it before they went in. And perhaps they would even have a drink while they were at it. That's plain stupid.

Yeah, people are far too hysterical about the whole thing, I agree, and many people might use hysteria as an excuse for abuse of power (even down to your local pub doorman).
People are going to be overly concerned and you have to behave appropriately as to not freak anyone out. I realize this may feel like a violation of one's rights, but unfortunately, it's the times we are now living in until people get a clue. If you don't like it, you should write your representatives or run for office. |

The doorman was definitely a potato head, and he didn't seem to have a sense of humour at all. I'm in fact the sort of person who immediately reports any strange bag left unattended, both in public places and where I work. It still surprises me that people are so stupid as to leave their personal possessions in crowded places in this time and age, but c'mon, that was just plain stupidity on the mongrel's part.

I usually take a bag into the grocery store to save on the waste of so many plastic bags, and one time recently, while my cart was unattended, someone took the bag. I didn't realize until I was checking out that it was missing, so I went all over the store looking for it, (one time I also lost the bag temporarily just because I had accidentally switched carts in the produce section right when I first came in) and then to the customer service desk. They had taken it because it was "a suspicious bag," but gave it back to me. I still take it into the store, but I guess they know me now.

Most bouncers are airheads with a zero sense of humor. You should've known better than to call a bomb scare.
You're also lucky you didn't get bitch slapped in the process. |

True, but try explaining that to your average doorman. |
