Paris, Texas or Paris, France?
If you're refering to Europe, I recommend La Bastille for it's bars and nightlife. Check out the little side streets for some great drinking spots. Le Marais is a nice area for sight-seeing, window-shopping and a good falafel or sushi. Le Cimetière du Perè Lachaise is a beautiful place to visit. Be sure to check out the grave sites of Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, Modigliani, Édith Piaf, etc. It should keep you busy for at least a day. Centre Georges Pompidou for modern art, or Le Louvre for the masters. Enjoy your stay in the "City of Love". |

16th is up in montematre isn't it? i stayed a week in the 2nd not long ago, near les halles and there was a cool pub there just down montegueil. the was a great dixie band playing outside the pub and everyone was sitting around singing along, it was alot of fun. as far as i am aware there is no real rock scene in paris but there are tons and tons of tiny little bars to go to.

Try the Saint Michel area (RER B, Saint Michel-Notre Dame station), there're a lot of cafe, shops, students....

When I was in Marseille I was at a cafe and a cover of Heart Attack and Vine was on. Shrug.
Isn't Jacques Brel like the Frank Sinatra of France? That's what I'd want to listen to there. |

I'm not from paris, but I've been there few times...
at night there are many nice clubs... tryptique is nice, it's free entrance, depends on the night but there are sometimes cool concerts. there's also batofar (sp?)... it's a bateaux tres ivre dans la seine turned into a club. there are two floors-every time I've been there it was interesting by an sociological point of view: there was this balck/white segregation: hiphop in a floor=all blacks, good/euro/electro in the other floor=all whites! but the palce is cool... it's a boat! then in the day to hang out my favourite place in paris is belleville... is cool and calm, colourful and very european. northern there there's a wonderful park built by napoleon, can't remember the name. have fun |
