I know we've got a number of people from Eastern Europe on this board, but I know very little of the music over there. I know that there's a great punk /squat scene over in Beograd and also in Sofia, Bulgaria though i'd love some names of bands.... What about Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, and even the Baltics........... ?? Any music we have to check out? I'm specifically interested in industrial music from this area - music reflecting a bleak, brutalist ex-communist landscape, but I suppose that's just my stereotype really. Everything and anything is good!

Slovakia:
Einleitungszeit - brutal industrial stuff, very bleak and dark, relatively well-known in industrial circles across europe http://www.einleitungszeit.industrialgallery.com/ Phragments - very good industrial / noisey sounding new band http://www.urbsounds.sk/cdc/cdc/Phragments/main.htm Urbsounds collective - a noise collaboration unit, very active for past 4-5 years http://urbsounds.sk/site/ Poo - ambient/noise project, one of the leading acts on local tiny scene. very complex. run by a friend of mine, a very nice fella. http://www.poo.sk/ Lahka Muza - an industrial legend, very well-known, however a bit too theatrical for my liking http://www.lahkamuza.net/ As for punk/anarcho scene, there are hundreds of productive bands in the area. To name a few, let's say Konflikt, Rozpor, Zona A, Punkreas, Slobodna Europa, etc etc, ...
