Can anyone tell me who the support acts were at Sonic Youth's Shepherds Bush Empire show on Saturday 1st July 2000?
(They were, as I recall, NOISY.) Ta. |

Did one of them involve guys in pig masks, and the other involve four or five blokes sat behind tables with things like tabletop guitars and loads of chains? If they did, then, as Thomas Moronic says, that was V/VM and Morphogenesis. The Morphogenesis set was released on a CD.
(Yes, the concert chronology confirms that: http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/cc/070100.html.) |

Pig masks.. guys sat at tables.. yes, that was the show.
Thank you Thomas Moronic, thank you sonicl. I sat upstairs by myself that show with no money for drinks, no one to talk to and no cigarettes to go outside and smoke. I remember I had a throbbing headache but was quite determinded to sit through both support acts and see SY. I remember alternating between a state of extreme annoyance (wanting to give up, fuck off and go home) and trying to force myself to enjoy the noise and find something interesting and pretty in it. |

Aww, I was in the same situation. What a shame there was no SY board in those days that would have enabled people to meet up.
