I'm not going to l isten to them...
I'm just gonna try and remember everyone hated Rather Ripped and I loved it. Haha... it would really be kind of career shattering for them (AT THIS POINT!!! wanna make that clear) if after so much build up and hype this album sucks.

I do not like what I've heard so far. Not one bit. Worse than the last one.

Actually, I liked--but didn't love--Rather Ripped, but I haven't heard anything to like let alone fall in love with on this one.

Yeah, I want.
I already dig the intro to Mars (or whatever it is called now) but Kim at :50 and the bloopy stuff at 1:03 really turn me on. I hope they do a serious video for one of the songs. |

i think the clip collage was smart. it gives a random sampling that won't make much sense when we hear the complete songs. one way to keep eternal fever without spoiling the the possibility of full-blown eternal blowing away.

I gave in and listened... pretty damn bad. Just lazy songwriting is what it sounds like. I want to hope for thebest but I just don't think this one is gonna be good.
THurston's tunes sound like lame Psychic Hearts outtakes..

I like the sampler and take it for what it is...a sampling of a fuller work.
The thread for The Eternal will be epic. A bunch of opinions stated either earnestly or insouciantly, and the follow ups by people who cannot deal with others opinions.

Yeah. The thing about the sampler is that we don't really know the context. SY's music sometimes has to stew in its own juices for a few minutes before it gets really awesome. |

I heard this a few weeks ago, I'm assuming this is the same collage, not going to listen again.. 2-3 minutes long, right?
"lazy songwriting" "sounds like shit" It's just a collage of tracks, with no real context of how the songs will flow or anything! How can anyone actually judge how the songwriting is from 10 seconds of a song? What I heard was some cool riffs here or there, some sassy Thurston lyrics, some noise. Sounds like the same ol', same ol'. There was a kind of shocking part near the end, if my memory serves me correctly. The collage is kinda silly but also kinda cool. I dunno. |
