I've never even been to a funeral, and I'm almost 30 years old.

For my part, I saw many deads at work...
First time you smell death, this odour stay in your nose and in your memory forever... Not pleasant. |

I've never seen anyone at the moment of passing away but I did visit my aunt at the hospital just a couple of days before she died from cancer.

Twice.
Once was my wife's grandmother in a hospital room (very uncomfortable; I didn't know a lot of the family present and it was obviously a very emotional scene), and the second time was when I was behind a truck that hit a pedestrian. The truck had just started up from a full stop and was turning and hit a woman crossing the street, going less than 5 MPH. I didn't see the actual point of contact because I was immediately behind the truck; I just saw other people reacting to something. When I drove around the truck, I saw the woman lying in the street. A tiny trickle of blood came out of her nose, and suddenly became a river of blood running onto the street. I found out later that she had died. |

Yes I have.
I was holding my mother's hand when she passed. 20 years ago and it was like yesterday.

Well I have one living grandfather who I've never met who lives in South America, both my grandmothers have died, one like ten years ago who I knew for a number of years growing up, but she died in South America so I didn't go to her funeral, both my parents from my mom's side are dead, and I never went to thier funerals either. My grandfather from my mother's side died at like 50 years old, I don't even think I was born yet, and my grandmother from my mother's side died when I was less then five years old, and I never went to her funeral either. It is kind of sad in the extent that I never knew my grandparents very well.

Never seen anyone die, though I've seen some pretty violent fights that might have led to it. I didn't stick around to see how it turned out.
Just a couple days ago, I walked from work to the bank past a funeral home, and happened by just as a body was being loaded in. Something about seeing the gurney with a body bag on it in broad daylight really tweaked me. |

I was in my mid 30s when my first grandparent died, and that was the first funeral I went to, so far the only. Of course you can count on more all of the time. |

Yes. In the late 80's I did my 2 year military service, and took part in a dirty war in Africa.
