Anyone here a fan of "the Python"? Or do you find their work generally unspeakable? Me goeth for the former.

...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.

The series were very hit and miss. Probably one or two really funny sketches per episode. But the funny ones were very funny.

I like Peter Cook and Spike Milligan more (both wrote "Pythonesque" stuff while the Pythons were still at school. They were Python before Python was Python. But the BBC wiped most of their TV work in the early 70s so nobody these days knows or cares about it).
But yes I generally like Monty Python. |

Most of Monty Python is pretty good, and the rest is very funny indeed.
The philosopher's football match always stands out to me.

The very best! I love Monty Python so much, maaaan! Some of my favourite skits are the dunces in an obstacle race (I don't remember the proper title...), the Spanish Inquisition, and the dead parrot (pet store?).
