i liked theyre album they put out on load last year for like a month. that month i was digging them and pissed jeans big time for bringing back jesus lizard-styled straight ahead noise rock. then i got bored quick, realizing neither bands are .5 percent as good as the jesus lizard and havnt listened to either records in prolly 5 months.

yeah it does. that is probably lazy journalism on my part but definitley the same sort of style. early 90's post-hardcore amrep noise rock. either way, i dont think theyre anything special.

do you even listen to those records? Sounds nothing like AMREP stuff at all or "early post hardcore" are we listening to the same records?
stop with the throwing around jesus lizard stuff, people think jesus lizard is the end all be all of "noise rock" as much as I love them, band isnt the end all be all. if anything it sounds like KilSlug meets Death In June or something |

i didnt say they were the end all of noise rock. i said they are noise rock, and that clockcleaner play in that sort of style. i didnt mean "post hardcore" as a genre just as "after hardcore".

I've read tons of people not only here (though ive seen jesus lizard refrenced more times than they need to be) throw around Jesus Lizard as some saving grace (and if we're going that far, I'd sat scratch acid is a bit more interesting, and well, rapeman was better than them all if we take it a step further), and AMREP? hammerhead and the cows are the only bands I think aged well on that label

Thee Headcoats are fucking AMAZING. "Heavens to Murgertroid Even" is a brilliant record. Nashville Pussy was hilarious, if nothing else. And I have no idea who love 666 is.

Saying Thee Headcoats suck is a serious impeachment of your musical tastes.

i don't see anything more than the most vague similarities between tJL and clockcleaner. looking forward to clockcleaner's uk tour this summer.

Note I said they were hilarious, "if nothing else". So, no, they weren't great, but in the grand scheme of things, that's one band of about 50 or so on that label that isn't totally great?

no one said nashvile pussy was great, or the jesus lizard was the best noise rock band or "the saving grace" or noise rock. yes, scratch acid was better. and theres also a shitload of noise rock bands better than scratch acid. im just sayin how clockcleaner sounds to me, god forbid we dont hear things exactl;y the same way.

the first nashville pussy album is great, redneck motörhead punk, afterwards they were just a novelty.
