This Tilts towards Drift, but really, if shit were music you'd be a brass band.

The new video is the first Scott walker ive ever listened to, and so far i dislike the vocals but im drawn in by the atmosphere and the music. Would you say this is a decent representation of his music in general (in terms of atmosphere and tone)?

The vocals are pretty whack at times imo, but if you want at atmosphere to shit yer pants, listen to drift.

I think Bish Bosch outdrifts Drift and overtilts Tilt. To my ears it is a continuation of the vibe of Drift, but more assured. Someone asked about his music in general. I believe that only Drift and Bish Bosch represent his most recent sound. Tilt is a stepping stone towards that.

probably one of the best albums of the year, it has everything i expected from a new Scott Walker album - dark, surreal atmosphere, great vocals and lots of sonic experimentation, highly reccomended

Yeah, I fuckin adore this album. After more spins I think it is a masterpiece. It is actually very melodic, with moments of sheer beauty (especially on tracks 5 and 6 to my ears), but also a very funny album. I mean funny haha, with great one liners all over the place. SW has a grand sense of humor.

I just got around to this. I don't know why I put it off. I guess Walker tends to have a negative effect on my mood if I'm not in the right state of mind. This is no different of course, and actually quite unsettling, but in a good way.
Really liking it. |
