I tried these smokeless cigarettes today. They are basically vapor & nicotine, created in a cigarette shaped device.
I quit smoking cigarettes a few years ago, so don't care either way, but if I was smoking, these would seem the way to go. They were called "BLU". They were telling me there's better brands, and devices, but that's like an entry level device. Some are made to look just like cigarettes.... glowing tip and all. They're not accessible in the US, as the FDA/tobacco companies muscle them around for a while, keeping them off of shelves. I don't know if they'll really catch on, but seem interesting. I would love to see them catch on for smokers sake, but I work for tobacco companies and these things would put a big hit on them. They seem to be more common in Europe, so sorry if this is old news to ya's across the pond. |

I've always been attracted to the idea of peddling nicotine under the guise of smoking cessation. An addictive product is a business model I could get behind and I wouldn't have all that guilt about giving people cancer.
All I'm saying is that broadening the market wouldn't necessarily hurt. Now I just need to think of a way to make the nicotine product look cooler than cigarettes.... (careful replying to this post, it is filled with evil) |

I've never heard of that. I just looked it up and it looks pretty ridiculous. You're supposed to charge your pack? wtf?

I tried one on saturday night. It's not like they're some sort of stand in for cigarettes, they glow blue for a starter. Plus the one I smoked did 'smoke', or I guess it was some vapour. They hardly replace actual cigarettes. Though I wish they did.

Anybody know if they still sell candy cigarettes? I thought about keeping a pack around so when I'm in a place where it's cool to look like you're smoking I can pull one of these out.

The person telling me about them was hyping the "vapor's" potential to be harmless.... When I first tried them, I didn't expect them to be harsh. I was wrong. They choked me up pretty good. They said that they don't have to have a harsh vapor but it's used to satisfy smokers to pose like real smoke. Otherwise, you wouldn't feel anything other than getting the nicotine and that's not cool. I've seen smokers use vaporizers for fancy tobaccos, that weren't used to absence of smoke. They huff and puff and literally freak out, jonesing because they don't feel the smoke. I personally didn't like the smokeless cigarettes... but find it interesting at all of the stops the FDA is pulling to prevent them from being sold in the U.S. when tobacco cigarettes have been proven to have everything in the world wrong with them |

I would like to do that, too, now. I would like to walk into a no-smoking restaurant or a federal building with a candy cigarette in my mouth.
Sometimes I buy root beer or cream soda in bottles that look like beer bottles and swig them as I'm driving down the freeway.

You must spread some root beer around before giving it to gmku again.
i had a teacher at school who used to use a nicotine inhaler thing in class - it didn't really look much like a cigarette though

Probably vapour. I don't think I'd ever use something like that.

Actually, I learned that they do still sell them. They tried to ban them a couple times here in the U.S. but the attempts failed.

yeah, chocolate cigarettes are supposed to be illegal here in belgium, but if you know where to go (usually old smalltown stores) you can still find them.

You don't smoke them, you eat them. They're candy! You can pretend like you have a real cigarette without getting cancer, only diabetes.
