Just saw The Devil And Daniel Johnston documentary - very well done. The man has much of his life documented on audio and video, so when they go to an interesting thing happening, there's usually documentation of some sort.
There is some interesting SY-related content in it: Daniel Johnston came to New York in the late 80's and stayed with Steve. They show them walking around NYC, then part of an In-store he did at Pier Platters. Apparently Daniel freaked out and had a falling out with Steve, which they play some of the audio of their confrontation. Then Daniel disappears and there's a little video footage of Thurston and Lee looking for him! It's kinda funny and freaky too, probably the highlight for me. Very well done and recommended. Also got the Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out DVD done by the band's drummer, Stewart Copeland. He dug through hours of super-8 footage he shot of the band and compiled the movie with it, along with some weird 'deconstructions' of their music that he made, mashing up songs with other songs and such. It's probably a movie most enjoyable if you are a fan of The Police though. Also been watching the REM DVD compilation of their early videos and bonus footage, which is excellent. |

Yeah, there's his meeting with his muse (forgot her name)! Hadn't seen her in over 20 years...that was interesting. Didn't watch everything yet, but there's some radio show he did, and extra super 8 footage and deleted scenes. |

I just ran into a free copy of the Can CD/DVD box set.
Best thing I didn't pay money for. |

Laurie, was it? I loved that movie so much. Steve rules, too. "Kill me, Daniel." That 'artist growing old' song is amazing. |

Yes it was Laurie. I thought that the filmmakers shouldn't have call Laurie. It killed the romantic mystery around The story. Anyway, This is a great documentary.

There is a Gary Wilson documentary, I don't know if it is on DVD yet. Also, the Mission of Burma doc looks cool. Don't know if that is on DVD yet either though.

Great performances, not the best video quality though

I bought the P.U.L.S.E. pink floyd dvd on impulse at Costco last weekend. Its from the 1994 tour. Pretty cool, especially the complete DSOTM set. Lost of cool random extras. Not the greatest (especially because of the absence of Roger Waters), but definitely worth the $15.
