When the Locust CD was in the bin at wrct (at radio stations, the bin is a place for keeping new music, you have to do 3 bin cuts an hour at WRCT) We'd play it to get a bin cut out of the way since every song was about 15-30 seconds long. Other than that, I don't think any of us were a big fan.

I've heard Plague Soundscapes, but it didn't/doesn't impress me much.

That LP isn't that great. Plague Soundscapes is their best and they are fairly childish and boring.

i love them, but of course, they should be taken in small doses. plague soundscapes is awesome, all aggressive, with odd time signatures and keyboards galore; safety second body last is kinda like dark ambient with little jolts of spazzy punkiness.

my friend turned me onto them last time he came up here. From what i heard i really liked. in fact there was this great song they did that was 45 seconds long that started off noisy but then had this great rock melody to it, but i cant ever find it and it drove me crazy for a while.

I saw them at the 2005 San Diego street scene festival. They were one of the first acts to play and a lot of people not knowing who they were were at the stage before they went on. 2 minutes into their set, about 90% of the people there had left. Very very loud, and really not my thing. Kind of interesting but not a band I would rush to see again.

Seeing them live is the only reason I consider them decent. Their records don't come close to their live performances.

again, an albatross and xbxrx are very different. it's like comparing big business to lightning bolt (same format, different music, uncomparable).
