Anyone else picked up this new Ecstatic Peace disc yet? It's fucking fantastic, totally changed my previously lukewarm reception of the free folk scene. Will need to explore more...

i don't think i'm the right person to ask that question as i've not heard all that many of their recordings either. i do know that i liked their stuff on the "by the fruits you shall know the roots" compilation and the recent threelobed EP better... but i've only listened to green blues about 2-3 times.
"mother of thousand" seems to be hailed by each and everyone though, that's the one i'm checking out next. |

i recommend ragas & blues LP, it's the best i've heard.
also rural ragas cdr's are great, there's 3 volumes. |

I haven't seen Green Blues for sale in the states yet.
Any of the Bummer Road stuff is awesome, and recent Tower Recordings releases are amazing too. That QBICO release from earlier this year is really really good, but its pricey...of course the early TR stuff is interesting as well and what got me on board before there was a mv/ee, but I think he's pushed his sound way beyond. I like his ensemble work more than his solo acoustic guitar stuff, but thats just me. I agree with sun city girls the Rural Ragas discs are ace... |

Yep...Tower Recordings stuff is ace. The Galaxies Incredibly Sensual Transmission Field of... is great. And, yes, the Qbico pic disc is ace. One of their best I think.

i got a live cd they were flogging at the show in berlin. its just what they record on the nights of the tour so far so they are quite limited edition but very good indeed.
looking forward to them again at atp.

I would have seen them tonight in Cardiff but they cancelled the show unfortunately. But I am playing some records at the place where they were going to play so I'll stick on the Qbico record for a bit I think.
