Do Text of Light play shows very often? I've just moved to NYC and I'd love to see them do a performance.
Also, is there a reason that the Drift dvd is so expensive ($31) in the SY store? |

ToL havent any dates up at this moment but you could check the site to keep in touch! http://sonicyouth.com/dotsonics/lee/text/index.html
DRIFT is a DVD with a BOOK full of poetry and photos. poetry has a great value but photography has a big cost further.

^Also, if you check the calendar on that site, designed by Mr. next step himself, you'll find a list of all (I think?) their past shows... so they don't play very often, but NYC is the most likeliest place to see them.
I bought Drift from here http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6979012 where it's $22.79. |

i don't think the drift dvd is really that expensive. i think i got mine for $29 or something like that. it's definitely worth it.
as for ToL, i have no clue, but they sure do sound pretty.

If Drift was DVD only, then, yes, it might be considered a bit expensive at the price at which it sells, but the accompanying book is a work of art in itself, and together they make the package worth every penny.
Do remember, there are other outlets from which this item can be purchased, some of which may incur a lesser cost, for instance there's a store on ebay has it at about 20.5 euro including postage. |

Its barely an annual event when they play in NYC, nothing in 2006.
We do get plenty of view worthy gigs by the various players - William Hooker's bands are always worth seeing, and I've seen Alan Licht play in a bunch of amazing lineups this year. |

In the snapshots section of the ToL site I recently added some music on pictures as Lee's advice. Would be great to pick more photos cause they aren't so much right now.... so if you have some ToL photos that you want to share, there is a uploader tool into the contact section of the site.

But they've hardly played anywhere in 2006... just this one 090706 Night of the Unexpected, Paradiso, Amsterdam--LR/UK/O ... and that wasn't even billed as Text of Light but as Ranaldo/Krieger/Olive. You're still best off in NYC. They should bring William Hooker on their euro trips sometime. |

I missed it? Where did they play? Damn, I've been here since September. Thought I had my ear to the ground, obviously not.
