Because I'm currently very interested in songwriting I browsed through some articles about songwriting and stumbles over one saying it's a common trick in pop music to have the last chorus of a song raised half a step. That makes sense / I think I've heard it in a trillion songs but I can't think of any specific ones. Anyone?

It's the case in Good vibrations (from the bridge).
I don't think it's used that often (at least in the "pop" I listen to).

Yeah, I've asked a few people, too. Everyone reacted exactly like that.

Britney's toxic and the third verse of every shit Oasis song ... Wonderwall? I would've thought it's more common to go up by a fifth, but then maybe that doesn't make sense... hmm.

A lot of gospel - and as a result, R&B and soul - music does this.

A friend showed me this song by a shitty german band, although I guess it's a whole step actually: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJEb8BNBib0
Bad example. I'd prefer something like Queen. Isn't Queen a band that is supposed to do that?

Mouse - A Public Execution
It's on the Nuggets compilation, and it's considered the best ever imitation of Bob Dylan.
