so, this morning i was getting drunk on wine, home alone and there was some w. burroughs books in front of me. so i made a small experiment - closed my eyes and pointed to the book searching for the 'best band name'. i was surprised when the first three names were actually good, so i continued until they sounded okay. i know there are burroughs inspired bandnames... like 'steely dan' for axample...
anyway... i'm gonna post what i picked- if there is someone seeking band name and you like what i came to- feel free to use it, but let me know if you did, anyway. i used 'the ticked that exploded' for the most and 'naked lunch' for the last two. w.burroughs inspired band name list: rings of saturn a chain burned say and nothing quote from fury the work of the nova mutual erections park street life black berry smoke deep man's knees shirt flapping the dialogue nothing here now i sweat out recording what other sabbah mechanization control machine boneless mummy disease so terrible voices under the story northern lighs get out of hell intestines the choise the enemy pretty tracks silence says goodbye indications holes in it solitude through steady stream books are records go go broken towers empty space worn coin group one sidewalks alternative questions healed so, this are the names i came with pointing in burroughs books. let me know what you think and if they sound okay to you. i think many of them actually sound allright.

Steady Stream makes me think of taking a piss. Which could work for some bands I suppose.

Isn't Steely Dan a Burroughs-derived band name?
