i've never had armenian coffee but if it's anything like turkish (i suspect) the spice that makes all the difference in it is cardamom-- which you can buy cheaply in bulk at your local food co-op (well, cheapness is relative-- cheaper than $4 chai at starfux).

masala chai ("chai" in 'merica) is brewed with cardamom pods (plus ginger, cinnamon, etc). you can blend your own brew w/ cheap broken leaf assam.

if you want to add cardamom to your coffee, just use it in powder when you brew-- it's great to improve a coffee that's starting to lose its freshness (e.g. you bought it ground last week and it's not quite where it was before). a tiny pinch will do, the aromas are very volatile and it can overpower.

This is the all around world's best beer.. thick as syrup. Sweet like candy. A balanced, floral front taste with a nice double hopped bitter after taste. And the buzz is STRONG but not overpowering.. However its not a "session" beer, indeed drink more than two in an hour and you will get the spins, period. My friend is a straight alcoholic and he calls me a "wild animal" for liking these.. i think they make the perfect "watch a bball game right after work" brew

Yeah, cardamon is the trick plus a little nutmeg and "pumpkin" all-spice blend... i referred to it as Armenian because of my politics..it is really the same as turkish coffee but we Oriental Orthodox Christians prefer to not give them the credit

also, if you like bitter, FERNET BRANCA is a must try for you. great post-meal, great in a coffee, great even with coca cola. check it out.
