Isle of dogs was one of the most boring things I’ve almost gotten thru. I gave it 45 minutes of my life. Just goddawful, pretentious yet childish

ssssso, for those interested in preregistering for the criterion channel
some of the offers are a bit ridiculous (“membership card” going into the shredder, “special email address” lmao please no more email, “concierge” what lolol) — but i like the lifetime discounts on something i’ll consistently use. here is where you’d go get it: https://www.criterion.com/channel |

This movie is fantastic. Very Barry Lyndon, which I had no problem whatsoever with. A very absurdist historical take on Queen Anne. |

ME TOO!! My favorite kids one anyway. Goddamn really goddamn good. Another good one is — believe it or not — Family Man with Nicholas Cage. It’s basically It’s a Wonderful Life, but that’s ok. |

I'm not sure if there's any part of this movie that I don't love. And Michael Caine is amazingly good as Scrooge, even in a world where Charles Dickens is played by a rat.

Just finished "A Christmas Carol" from 1951 with Alastair Sim, and started Ruby Sparks.

Michael Caine's Scrooge...the only one willing to give employment to rats. That shoots him to the top of the list instantly.

I know that Rizzo has his own distinct vocals, but that scene is ripe for the Wilhelm scream https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_scream
