Sometimes on Rain Dogs old Tom sounds like he's imitating Captain Beefheart.

And oddly, at times he makes me think of Springsteen circa Born to Run.

Anyone else get this?

true on both counts, and you aren't alone i've heard both comparisons

beefheart was imitating howlin' wolf though and i think waits maybe was as well

also i think franks wild years is better than rain dogs
