All the Television & Joy Division I've downloaded & sampled were poor audience quality, so I don't have any.
I've got these Patti Smith Group 5/28/75 WBAI-FM Studios FM sbd Free Music Store 8/11/79 CBGB NYC sbd x2 (this one seems to be a strong candidate, but I'll have to go & listen) 8/29/86 Amsterdam 1997 ARTE TV documentary vcd 7/03/04 Brixton Academy London 7/17/04 Cologne, Ger x2 sbd (this one is actually really good) I have another one (somewhere) from Paris '01 or something that's an unreleased studio session.

the documentary is great, but it's too much of a drag to share big videos with a file sharing service.
the '75 one is just Patti with Richard Sohl on piano and Ivan Kraal & Lenny Kaye on guitar; there's nobody drumming. the '79 one has some great moments, but Patti's voice is a bit shot. the Cologne '04 one is pretty damn nice, but without the drama & audience rapport of the '79 one. |

the good news is that I found the 2 discs for the '79 one. Initially, I found the case, but wouldn't you know it?...only one cd in there. So naturally, when I finally found the other disc, I had looked through almost every live disc I have by the time it was recovered.
Patti Smith Group August 11, 1979 CBGB's, NYC Lineage: CD bootleg "Live at CBGB's" WNEW-FM SBD broadcast Seeder's SQ comments: Almost an "A", one of the best-sounding 70s Patti recordings. My favorite 70s Patti recording. Disc One 67:47 01 Glass Factory 13:34 02 Redondo Beach 4:20 03 Song For Jim Morrison 3:42 04 Kimberly 6:49 05 Dancing Barefoot 5:16 06 Space Monkey 5:13 07 Privilege 4:57 08 25th Floor 7:31 09 Cold Turkey 6:29 10 For Your Love 3:56 11 Revenge 5:56 Disc Two 59:08 01 Frederick 7:17 02 Seven Ways Of Going 7:08 03 Poppies 7:47 04 All Along The Watchtower 4:10 05 The Spider And The Fly 2:45 06 Rock And Roll Star 12:00 07 5-4-3-2-1 4:27 08 Twist And Shout 5:10 09 My Generation 8:20 It's a great setlist, but I don't know about this one though. I remember that My Generation which closes the show is a blistering version, but Patti is singing Redondo right now & she sounds kinda bad. Oh well, this Dancing Barefoot sounds better. Here's the setlist for the Cologne '04 show. Less fiery maybe, but a more dynamic-sounding performance. Trampin' was a good tour & album for Patti Smith. Patti Smith E-Werk Cologne, Germany 2004-07-17 FM sbd Disc One 01. Trampin' 02. Stride of the Mind 03. Break It Up 04. My Blakean Year 05. Birdland 06. Jubilee 07. Beneath the Southern Cross 08. 25th Floor 09. We Three 10. Poem for John Coltrane 11. Seven Ways of Going 12. Cash 13. Free Money Disc Two 01. Peacable Kingdom 02. Gandhi 03. People Have the Power 04. encore break 05. Mother Rose 06. Gloria Which do people prefer? |

I needed to find that disc & put it back where it should go anyway...like most people, I just like to bitch sometimes. I didn't have to type those setlists in...I just searched for them & they were still online even though the torrents are now dead.
I'll do the '79 one. I'm doing disc 2 first & it should be a couple of hours or so. At the end of Space Monkey with the "Oh, goodbye mama/I'll never do dishes again," lyric near the end, Patti blurts, "I don't mind doin' dishes at all...as long as my water pressure is good." |

Does anyone have a good, free wav to mp3/wma converter?
I ran out of blank discs and I don't want to keep uploading gigantic wav files. |

That's strange that it didn't work.
If you're just trying to rip from a disc, Windows Media Player should do it.

I just downloaded it, and I don't want badongo to split it into 3 parts again.
But I got it covered and it should be uploaded in like 3 minutes. |

atari: you can keep track of your badongo links by signing up to a free account. also, the paris 78 patti smith boot which i probably got from you is some tv appearances, a few live tracks and some outtakes.
i have joy division's peel sessions if anyone is interested, i have no concert boots though. thanks a lot for the muddy waters and the vu, which i was going to ask for. i would love to hear those patti smiths you tracklisted, atari. |

there's a couple of new patti smith group torrents at dime just today, but they are audience ones...this '01 nyc one claims to be a great audience-sourced & has a nice looking setlist...i might snatch that one...
