Anyone planning to go to that Branca show, buy your tickets direct from The Roundhouse - Cheaper, and much quicker.
EDIT - Except it's not listed there yet... But I'll hang our for them to list it, as they charge no booking fee and only £1 for postage, as opposed to Stargreen charging nearly £10 in charges and postage for one ticket. |

Lovebox Weekender - Victoria Park, E9 - Sat 21 / Sun 22 July
Lovebox are excited to reveal its Saturday night headliner as Sly & The Family Stone. Londons ground-breaking music festival welcomes one of musics true innovators: the band that championed black and white integration and fused soul and rock music with psychedelia, releasing seminal albums Fresh and Stand! and timeless songs such as Everyday People, Dance To The Music and Family Affair. This will be the first time Sly has played with the band in the UK since 1987 and whats more the line-up includes many of the original roster such as Lisa Stone and Cynthia Robinson. |

Live on Stage – Ami Sacko & Oumar Barou Kouyate from Malian sensations Ngoni Ba + Resident DJ: Jamie Renton FREE Chilli Fried, London's premier orgy of global beats, is very proud to present a special live performance from singer Ami Sacko and ngoni player Oumar Barou Kouyate, members of Mali’s astonishing ensemble Ngoni Ba, currently on tour in the UK and getting rave reviews and responses wherever they go! Dubbed the ‘Tina Turner of Mali’, Ami is the most soulful of singers and graceful of movers, she’s also the wife of Ngoni Ba’s leader Bassekou Koutate. Oumar, Bassekou’s nephew, is a young master of the West African ngoni lute and a rockin’ stage presence to boot. Tonight they'll be weaving a magic spell at Brixton's friendliest and funkiest cafe/bar, with a unique duo performance. All this + Jamie Renton spinning global beats and roots rhythms. Please note: this replaces the previously advertised performance by Laye Sow. It's not a rumour. Stephen O'Malley has it on his site and Seetickets have aleady listed it too. Tickets are 16 pounds.
http://www.ideologic.org/index2.html http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=SUNN+O%29%29%29+%26+BORIS+PRE SENT+ALTAR Boredoms date is listed on the site of their booking agency. http://www.toutpartout.be/boredoms/boredoms.htm Anywaaaay, thank god/satan both sites don't list it as a "Don't Look Back" thing, like how it was talked about on the SL forums. That would be the worst idea ever: they only have one album anyway and it's barely a year old. |

No need to apologies, I didn't detect any brashness in there.
I wonder if the fact that they're playing in London increases the chance of them playing at ATP as well or if the rumours were always about London anyway. |

i certainly think it increases the chances this will be at ATP, especially as Earth and Boris are already confirmed to play.
I really wanna go to atp this year, regardless . . . the line-up is getting better and better . . . |

Friday 28th September
Dirty Water Club - http://www.dirtywaterclub.com White Hills / Dogntank / The Kits White Hills 'Their excellent brand new CD, "Glitter Glamour Atrocity", pilots Hawkwind starships fueled on kraut-rock drone, wah-wah pedal freak out, and post-rock ambience,' says New York's Village Voice. Their heavy space rock mixes up just the right amounts of psychedelia with hypnotic grooves to make up an intoxicating other-worldly madness. Last year the band made their debut performance in the UK, supporting Julian Cope (who had previously released a remixed version of the band’s debut,"They've Got Blood, Like We've Got Blood") at Koko. On top of releasing their sophomore album, they continue to blow away audiences up and down the East Coast of the USA and are back in the studio laying down tracks for their next album before making their second visit to the UK. http://www.myspace.com/whitehills Døgntank “A power trio formed by Spiritualized and Brain Donor's legendary guitarist Doggen, Charlie Wayman and Antronhy OH. It’s just as you would imagine - a guitar blitz worthy of its name. The album features 12 songs of unrestrained but always melodic sonic attack. Most surprising, though, is the uncanny beauty of Doggen's lead vocal, which veers between the dulcet tones of Plastic Ono Band-period John Lennon and Kiss' Paul Stanley. Those of you expecting High Rise-style freakouts please be aware that this is an album of MC5/Montrose-styled hard rock with the emphasis being at all times on the songs themselves.” - Julian Cope http://www.myspace.com/dogntank The Kits These Melbourne natives have a sound that’s a blend of garage rock’n’roll from various parts of the globe. Their latest release, This Is Your Lung, showers you with a wall of howling vocals, thick, mud-drenched guitars and pounding rhythms. They teeter on the brink, like the sensation you get when you almost lose control of your car, just to recover in the nick of time. The Kits push the limits set by their predecessors - which include the likes of The Saints, The Von Bondies, The Hells and International (Noise) Conspiracy. Their music is as much inspired by the sounds of Detroit, Sweden, New York and other centres of rock’n’roll decadence as by the Melbourne scene. After sharing stages with Wolfmother, The Saints and The Casanovas amongst others, they decided to leave their home for the madness of London from where they’re preparing for an all out assault. http://www.myspace.com/thekits Entry £6 (£1 off if you join the mailing list). Bands on stage from 9.30 till Midnight followed by the club's regular and guest DJs playing beat, garage, psych, R&B and punk for your dancing pleasure. Tickets for all gigs are now available at: (cash sales only) Intoxica Records, 231 Portobello Rd, Notting Hill, London W11 Sounds That Swing, 46 Inverness St, Camden Town NW1 Pure Groove, 679 Holloway Road, London N19 Tickets for some gigs at Dirty Water can now be purchased online through We Got Tickets.
