R.I.P.

its like Ozzy said, "

nefs igziar yimareh! (God Bless the Soul)

Les Paul didn't single-handedly invent the electric guitar,
but he pioneered many new elements to its design which gave us
the bad ass guitars of today. thanks les paul, where would we guitar playing junkies
be without you?

also, he pioneered elements of multi-track recording in its infancy,
and as I am going into the studio soon, and playing around in my bedroom
on an 8 track (something I don't believe les paul or anyone would have imagined
50 years ago) I think we owe him that gratitude as well..

wonderful legacy, well deserved hero of modern music!

Wow...although, if he was 94, I guess it was inevitable (it's inevitable for all of us, but we don't expect our peers to die of natural causes if we're younger than 60-something). RIP

As for the guitar, Les Pauls are awesome if you don't play higher than the 18th fret. After that, it gets a little cumbersome. I play all the way up to 22 sometimes, so I've got a Washburn Idol instead:

I gotta say I love these double cut LPs. The normal ones don't do anything for me but these are awesome.

I wish they'd bring back the Les Paul DCs with humbuckers. P90s just don't have enough "oomph" for me.

Do they do the thing some telecasters do where they turn into a humbucker if you put them in the middle position? Cuz if they do that would be cool. If not, they should have one of them as a humbucker and one of them as a P90.

I play this Epiphone LP. Appearance-wise, I just think the shape of it is perfect. It's really great to play, though I don't have much experience playing other guitars, since this one just seems to work so well. Anyway, RIP.
