What's a good book for a girl in the 8th grade? - Page 2

when i was about that age i read:
naked lunch
fear and loathing
various ginsberg books
a clockwork orange

etc...i don't think any of that shit is above 8th grade level. then again i remember some kids were still reading harry potter so it depends.

and i think they made us read of mice and men in school but i'm pretty sure i read the first page and tossed it aside.

Look at this picture. You will see joaquin/leaf pheonix, the guy who rachel fell in love with when she worked at the clothing store on friends, the dude that played the gay guy Lamar Latrell in revenge of the nerds, lea thompson, from the back to the future movies, kelly preston who is married to tom hanks and has a good career, and kate capshaw, who has made lots of good movies.

hiow can this not be a cult classic? it sucks!

I don't remember most of the books that I read when I was that age...basically just whatever was on the bookshelf in our classroom at school. I think I read a lot in elementary school, but not as much in junior high. I'm pretty sure I liked "A Wrinkle In Time" a lot, and the other books in that series. I liked adventure books. I think I read "Treasure Island" eight times and finally the librarian at my school just let me keep the book. I also loved Roald Dahl books, especially "Danny, The Champion of the World." If you can find one of his short story collections, I think that would be a good choice. I guess I wasn't so much into the very girly books. Most things I read could appeal to both boys and girls.
