I don't think they were trying to sound that way, it just came out. Honestly, even though it seems there's a "They are/aren't shoegaze because..." reasoning behind these types of bands, if we're counting them I think Swervedriver blow the fuck out of every other "shoegaze" band from the time line. You can't beat Raise and Mezcal Head! ~Jeremy~

I like Souvlaki, but it's uneven. Some of the songs are just fantastic, I love them - like Alison, Machine Gun, Souvlaki Space Station, but other songs aren't nearly as good. I haven't listened to this one, even though I own it.

My favourite album is their debut Just For a Day.

I'm on a slowdive kick again. The guitar tones on this album are just ridiculously awesome.

I don't see how anyone ever could dislike Slowdive. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful music.

I'm not sure either. There's really never been a band that even comes close to them, honestly. No other "Shoegaze" band sounds anything like them. Slowdive bathed their songs in delay and reverb, instead of bathing them in walls of thick distortion. BRilliant band.
