I beg to differ. I'm emotionless and cold-hearted, but am not psychotic.

Agreed that their set was way too short. It's a sad, sad world when SY gets trumped by fucking WEEN for chrisssakes!
Almost a religious experience for me - SY with the sun setting in the background, a series of planes flying overhead. I waited 14 years to see them (now age 27, started listening to them at 13). Makes me choked up to think about the show. Weird me. What's up w/ the 13 year old Flaming Lips fans? No one was really into SY at this show (except a handful of us), but it made it feel that much more special. Quiet crowd. Your set list is correct. RR songs take on a whole new persona when experienced live. I could watch Thurston create feedback for hours. I adore that man. Thank you, SY. |

I agree. I did enjoy Ween a lot, but could have easily done without them and the Magic Numbers. Then at least SY would have had a much longer set, and I would have gotten to see all of the Lips.
As far as the 13 year old Lips fans are concerned, I would have been more surprised if there had been a bunch of 13 year old SY fans. I like the Lips but I don't get why people say that SY are pretentious when Lips seem to be much more so. Their stage show might be entertaining but it's also rather cheesy and trite. Give me SY, or any band for that matter, on stage with their instruments, rocking out. I don't really need some lavish, fruity stage show to keep me entertained. I also got annoyed when the crowd went wild every time the arrogant Lips frontman pranced his ass out onto the stage between the other acts' sets. I don't get what the fuss was about. It's not like he was turning water into wine for us. Maybe it would have been better if it had JUST been SY after all. lol (from all of my above comments I really sound like a whiny bitch ) |

I guess I need to go to a show where SY is headlining to find an enthusiastic crowd. Le sigh. |

It was my first SY show. It was amazing.
I got there early and was really close to the stage. The Flaming Lips were really good too. Ween bored me. The Magic Numbers were good it was the perfect time of day for them to play. |
