I don't discount them so much as recognize them as mere precursors.

CD. More compatibility, more environmentally friendly, and easier to carry despite the sound quality differences.

CDs fuck up in half the time it takes for a vinyl to do the same. They look / sound better too.

because they (and their packaging) is smaller? i prefer vinyl as it sounds great (when cared for), and is more of a lasting artifact than the cd is going to turn out to be...

When I rule the world, anyone caught referring to records as "vinyls" will be taken out and shot. Just a word of warning.

I have more CDs than vinyl records mostly because they are easier to find of the music I want.
Also I can't stick vinyl into my car stereo, which really is the only practical draw of CDs to me now. |

i still tend to buy more CDs, it's a convenience thing, and i had to buy and assemble a much larger shelf to hold it all
i wish i could fit the incapacitants box in it but it's a little too tall but it's very nice the vinyl collection slowly grows, i am buying the vinyl versions of my favorite albums and singles when ever i get the chance, like a nice score over the weekend of Mahavishu Orchestra's first album and Gumball's Revolution on Ice |

This might be impossible...but...has anyone ever made a vinyl CD? Like a CD-looking thing but with grooves on the "playing" side.

Rubin Steiner's "Drum Major!", however, is a CD but has grooves on the "non-playing side" (upper side) - so it's only for aesthetic purposes, but it really looks great |
