Speaking personally, I just don't like it on that LP. Strangely, when I've heard live versions of it I've enjoyed it a lot more. But I can't fathom why 'Youth Against Fascism' gets so much criticism.

I guess no one agrees with my idea that it is just too direct from a band that I celebrate as deliciously cryptic...
I recently read a review of the new AntiFlag album where they have titles like "The WTO is making poor people suffer". I sort of equate it to that. Music and politics work well together, but I don't want to read the newspaper in the lyrics. I like the song as it is a fun listen, but I don't respect it in the morning. |

One of things I like about SY is exactly that variety though - from improv to rock to noise, and ehatever else. The variety is great, with each LP having a sense of wholeness and distinction about it.

Listened to this on cassette the other day on the way to work.
Honestly, I couldn't stand 9/10ths of it. |

do you think nic fit, a song that's 59 seconds long, was the reason they took genetic, a 3:00-plus minutes long song, out?!
it was because they either gave lee wish fulfillment or genetic, i don't think a punk song was the reason lee didn't get two songs in |

highlights: Theresa's Sound World, Purr, On The Strip,Creme Brulee,Wish Fulfillment, JC.
everything else isn't bad, just not my favorite, definetly one of their most accesible albums. |
