I'm sure he's a nice guy, or so he seems on this forum. The 5000 parody threads are beyond tedious, though. It's the internet, if you don't like people telling you what you don't want to hear, it's tough.

first, I've been hyphenating like crazy ever since. no. really.

Neither, that one just stuck in my head because it amused me. I've got quite a good memory for things that I've read, to the point that I can find quotes in books based on the shape of the text while skimming through. I doubt that makes sense, but there you are.

actually, it makes perfect sense. I tend to read that way. unfortunately, in my case, it can lead to tuning-out certain bits if I'm not paying attention.
