Also, I must be one of the only persons to find Black Dice far more interesting now than they were in their early albums. Beaches and Canyons is really good for sure, and Creature Comforts is okay, but they're just... I don't know. I feel like since Load Blown they've been doing something really different and original. Sure you could feel it like "boring samplers farts" but then again most noise music could be said to be "boring guitar distorsion" and so on. Somehow, since Load Blown they manage to take all those distorded sounds and make groovy, danceable (yes!) electronic tunes. Load Blown really blew my mind. Roll Up is one of my favorite tracks ever. And I find the new one fantastic as well.

You're gonna feel like idiots when you find out you've been arguing with Thurston.

Black Dice aren't noise.
I don't know what to call them. them. "Supersample funkin' un-dance". |

No one said Black Dice were noise, I think. If you're talking about my post, I said that about noise music because it was the first example I had in mind, I could've said you could say glitch is "boring copy/paste", or techno "boring 4/4 rhythms", and so on.
I couldn't label them anything either. Just enjoy them. Or don't. |

Beaches and Canyons was a fantastic album, still is... Give it a go if you don't know it, it's definitely their best work as '1st generation' Black Dice, when they still had a drummer.
Kinda went down hill sharp after that. |

Talking about their ex-drummer, Soft Circle (Hisham's solo project) is also really good.

If I found out Thurston did such a lame "noisehead parody" as the "character" who generated this thread, I'd feel like Thurston was an idiot. However, I'm quite sure he has better things to do with his time, like writing lyrics such as, "Everytime I handcuff you, I come closer to the truth". That's wittier than all of said "character"'s output combined. |
