Having to go on an unexpected (and not the fun kind of) pub crawl to try to convince other venues to have you host an event on a specific date, because the initial one canceled on short notice. And you're tired of that shit.

So I finally started this job and I've been there for 3 weeks, and they haven't payed me. They never told me how often I'm being paid, or how much even and I am terrified to ask. I'm going to have to ask next week, because my love of special plants might take over and I haven't had a stashe for a few weeks now.

Ok y'all, buckle up, I just started college and something already happened:
I got tagged in a video someone made about me, and some girl that I made made spring of 2021 had a video saying "Me @ that girl who pissed me off a few years ago, can't wait to see you girly" while some song about shooting people was playing in the background. I told her to leave me alone and then I went to student conduct so it's on their radar. The thing is, we literally had a creative writing class my senior year and she didn't have any issues then? Now all of a sudden she wants to bring stuff up? I really don't give a shit that she hates me, It's just annoying and every time I see a girl who looks like her, I have to compose myself. I'm already on edge from starting college, I do not need this!

I have an extra-fury dog that constantly gets massive bouts of diarrhea; the source being possum shit that falls from the gum tress in the backyard.

Creeper assholes aggressively hitting on goth women because they have an unhealthy obsession, continuing to do so after being told off and not respecting boundaries. It sucks that women constantly need to have their guard up while going out. It should be an occasion to forget about their sorrows, if only for a little while, not add to them. I mean, that's the purpose of going out in general - in an ideal situation. And yet, it winds up making people feel more on edge than they were before on many occasions.

I started college the end of August. I have 2 professors that I do not like, at all!
My effective composition professor has one of the biggest egos I've ever seen. He uses "um" and "uh" more than any other word and can barely string a sentence together. Normally I would be more patient, but this man proceeds to get all pissy when we ask questions and when we have no clue what is going on in the class. We will ask for an answer to a question when we answer it wring, and then says something having nothing to do with the question itself. he will just ramble on about some other bullshit. He likes to pick fights with students too, always looking for an opportunity to say someone is wrong. He has been a professor for 30 years, and graduated from HARVARD?!?! I don't know how he hasn't lost his tenor, they must be really desperate for professors. This man needs to retire. The other professor is my First Year Seminar professor. It's a mandatory class sadly. His assignments are too vague, and he told us what to include in an essay the class before it was due, when half of the class already had it done and submitted. We had 1 to 1 meetings on one of the class days, and all of us were reporting back to everyone else in the class because we all don't like him. He told me that he was disappointed in me because I'm failing the class, and he gave me a whole dad lecture. He laughed in another girl's face when she had a 79%, and saying how sad it was to have that grade. Saying that 1 93% was a bad grade. On top of that, all of the men in the class didn't get NEARLY the same shit all the women/afab people got. One of them had a 67% in tha class and he just said to keep going to class and get all other assignments in to him, and that was that. So yeah, that's my college experience so far. Also trying to find a drum kit I can use as a non-music major and it's proving to be difficult. My other classes I really like though, and I think I'm a bit happier in college than I am at home just working.

Gentrification has fully arrived in Vienna and is tightening its grip.
Magistrates cracking down on cool, hole-in-the-wall alternative venues. We're only two months into 2024 and already, two places I frequented a lot had to cancel their entire programme for the upcoming months due to what seems like chicanery. Last year, one of the premiere outdoor (formerly autonomous) Punk venues had a long battle over new residents in the area complaining about the noise - the venue had been there for ages, it's an industrial part of town and those stupid, most likely overpriced housing blocks only cropped up recently. Hosting events is getting more and more difficult - previously affordable venues now exert the full pressure of this hyper-capitalist mindset that's been creeping in seemingly everywhere. It's a global phenomenon, but I was hoping its tendrils wouldn't quite intrude on sleepy Vienna as much. Fuck this. |

IN my hometown, the Southside of the city is getting gentrified. It's where all of the low income housing and minorities live of course too. There's a casino that got bought by Wind Creek Casino, so that really got the gentrifying going. It's crazy that the Southside can go from where steel plant workers lived (it's right by an old abandoned steel plant) to this gentrification bullshit.

I was to purchase an acoustic from a friend after they bought a new guitar who unfortunately (or fortunately as I'll get to in a bit) went on to break a machine head on the new G. I was then offered the new acoustic instead for 3x the price of the old one with broken head intact. meh. Acoustics are for southern fairies and Thurston when he's having a mid-life crisis anyway. Besides, I've recently purchased new valves for my amp, from Russia, propping up Putin's war chest. It is unfortunate the skronk coming from the amp carries the weight and sound of thousands of Ukranian casualties, however the skronk has never sounded better...gotta love a happy ending.

not entirely the right thread to mention this, but I'm close to getting a new house. I'm even underbidding, which is a rarity in this scarce market. Getting close for a sweet deal hopefully.
But this is the right place, I'm so fucking fed up with all my neighbours! Spent the weekend once again banging on their doors to shut the fuck up.

Im so ready for this semester to be over but I also don't want to go home to spend summer in the house where like, most of the bad things in my life have happened. Hoping to just work thru it and see my college friends.

Being a lesbian* is fucked, can't believe how much of a mess I'm getting my emotions tangled into. On the bright side, this is a totally normal problem for someone my age to have, and that makes me feel a little better.

Seriously considering dropping out, my college over - enrolled and now it is nearly impossible to get classes that I had planned out for. Then I'm stuck looking for classes that will fill my requirements, and get the classes no one wants with shitty professors. Feel like I'm setting myself up for failure and college doesn't seem worth the anxiety, time, or money anymore. Though was it rlly ever worth the money?

Treat university/college as a place where you learn how to learn. Most 1st and 2nd year students have a hard time getting the classes they desire, due to preference given to juniors, seniors, and grad students. It gets better, but it gets HARDER.
