McLusky are great. One of my favorite bands since the early 90's. Ironic but also epic guitartunes.
Also future of the left is worth a try as is shooting at unarmed man(which are the two follow up bands). |

the onstage banter of the future of the left live album "last night i saved her from vampires" nearly upstages the music its so fuckin' funny. he just ruins this guy thats yellling/being annoying who also happens to be wearing a tool shirt.

I find Future of the Left extremely dull for the most part... in fact, most of their songs are terrible, but Shooting at an Unarmed Man is surprisingly good.

'Your wearing a tool t-shirt, I ain't taking you serious mate'
Or something like that. That album is great fun. I saw them live this summer, great set(even Falkous was again irritated, playing to some die-hard fans in 11.00 in the morning on a festival lined over the Ting Tings) and I think their new one is one of my favorite records this year. Shooting splitted, the Australian line up broke up which sucks....Girls Music is one of my favorite songs of the moment now. |

That's a pretty weak comeback. Though hardcore Tool fans are generally retarded, of course.

TOOL are amazing, one of the best bands ever. Infinitely better than anything McLusky or their offshoots have produced. Still, their hardcore fans are generally douchebags. Just a fact.

I'm interested in this description. I'm not debating it, just curious what you mean by this. Even as someone who has liked McLusky for a good 7 years, I can't really recall any of their songs where I'd describe the guitar as "epic". In fact, some of their little one-string riffs are downright cheesy, to me. ...I will say, WITHOUT MSG I AM NOTHING is one of the best songs ever written though, for guitar. Actually, yeah, I think THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN... blah blah is really interesting, because you can almost hear the band breaking up on the record. It's such a dark, confused, confusing record. Well, except for the "SHE'LL ONLY BRING YOU HAPPINESS" song, which is embarassing. Good band. |

Oh okay, I understand now, well I'm not a hardcore fan so it's cool but I just think they're one of the greatest metal bands ever. Quote:

Oh okay. Yeah, FALCO seems like a funny dude, I don't really have any interest in a FotL live album though haha. I can't put my finger on it but I just don't really like that band very much (even though I started the official sy gossip Future of the Left thread some time back!). |

yeah, i liked them alot when i first heard them but my interest sorta dwindled. i just saw them maybe like a month ago and was a little disapointed, just cause i heard mclusky was such an epic live band. i sorta wished falco would have just done stand up instead. |

On Mclusky's B-Sides collection, there's a bunch of live songs, and the onstage banter is hilarious. There's a part where Falco really shreds this one heckler. I love it. Sometimes I listen to the live stuff, just to hear that part. |
