Doesn't happen too often that the CD is cheaper than the digital album If you want the CD too, be quick. There's only 6 of 70 remaining.....

A 23-minute long acoustic instrumental by Lee called “In Virus Times”. It is coming out in limited edition thru a small French publisher that pairs early 20th century texts with contemporary composers on little 3” CDs. Lee did the cover too. Last edited by Moshe : 01.25.2021 at 11:36 AM. |

LIMITED EDITION HANDMADE 2XLP VINYL EDITION OF DISAPPEARS-STEVE SHELLEY-WHITE/LIGHT AVAILABLE VIA VAMPIRE BLUES-BANDCAMP Limited to 350 2XLP’s pressed at 45RPM Black vinyl, includes download, pressed at Kindercore in Athens, GA, housed in “bootleg-style” hand-stamped and numbered LP jacket. Get the entire album to stream or download upon purchase. Vinyl ships on or around February 5, 2021. Lacquers cut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service. Mixed by John Congleton w/ Jeremy Lemos and Steve Shelley. ===== In the summer of 2009, Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley and the band’s long time sound engineer, Jeremy Lemos, invited Lemos’ White/Light bandmate Matt Clark and Chicago spacepunx Disappears to come over to Lemos’ Semaphore Recording studio and jam. Their one-afternoon, two-drummers, three-guitarists, no-rules jam evolved into a productive and glorious multi-day freakout, which resulted in the recording of these eight songs. Producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) later mixed the marathon session with Steve and Jeremy at Echo Canyon West in Hoboken, NJ. And then… the record disappeared. Sonic Youth went on hiatus, Shelley briefly joined Disappears, Disappears broke up and then evolved into FACS; plans to release the album on Shelley’s Vampire Blues were scuttled and eventually shelved. In the quarantine days of spring of 2020, more than a decade later, Shelley started blowing the dust off old masters he’d had planned for his label over the years, and here we are. An Exclusive to Bandcamp. Rip it up. Disappears: Brian Case: Vocals, Electric Guitar Damon Carruesco: Bass Graeme Gibson: Drums Jonathan van Herik: Electric Guitar + White/Light: Jeremy Lemos: Electronics, Shruti Box Matt Clark: Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar + Steve Shelley: Drums Engineered by Jeremy Lemos at Semaphore Recording and Steam Room Studios in Chicago, IL Mixed by John Congleton at Echo Canyon West in Hoboken, NJ Mastered by Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service in Chicago, IL Last edited by Moshe : 02.04.2021 at 02:55 AM. |

The original vinyl release, with french title (https://www.discogs.com/FM-Einheit-L...ease/13919730), was available at the Paris Foundation exhibition only, but they still have copies (I just bought one). Price is just 20 euro, but shipping to within EU is more expensive than the vinyl itself. And even more to USA, I guess. For any one interested, you can contact the people at Gulbenkian-Paris: https://gulbenkian.pt/paris/ I got addressed to the right person through the generic e-mail very quickly. But if you get no answers, I can send the guy's e-mail in a private message. |
