I think that D.A.R.E. program did its job with me. I am scared shitless to try any drugs.

they don't know what the fuck they're talking about, and i am dead fucking serious about that. the people running DARE are those shitheads who claim to have never touched drugs or alcohol. if you've never done it, you can't really say shit about it.

True, I have tried weed before, but won't try it again, because it gets me too paranoid.

Yes, very much so.
I don't drink so all I ever do is smoke pot. Which kind of sucks cause I definitely don't get as stoned as I used to, plus I can't sleep unless I have a joint before bed.

don't forget
The White Stripes are on a new Simpsons tonight. Last week's season premiere with Imperioli and Pantoliano was fairly good.

they seem to have lost their edge. i haven't been watching it for about the last 5 years, although i had been watching it essentially all of my life up until that point.

My little brother was straight edge and Sonic Youth used to be his favorite band. Then he started smoking weed. Now he's fat and ugly and listens to shitty music.
I'm not straight edge, I like a beer now and then, but it has been my observation that kids who get into pot around here really go downhill. My little brother used to play guitar, and he would have got really good at it. Now he picks it up and he can barely play a G. My friend Mike is a senior art major and ever since he quit smoking pot he's become much better at playing guitar, songwriting, and art. The idea of straight edge is really poignant to me. Saying "I'm strong, I don't need drugs or alcohol to deal with my problems or to entertain myself. I am creative, intelligent, and I want to experience the world as it is, I don't want my perception warped and twisted by drugs because if I do, I might miss something." The problem though is that a lot of young impressionable kids don't understand that. They just start listening to Minor Threat and think "oh man, this is cool" and say they are straight edge without really thinking about what exactly it means. The kids just follow trends and also easily turn into potheads and smackheads. Atleast that is the trend around here. |

I smoke joints and listen to minor threat.
I haven't smoked in a good week, which is a good stretch for me really. I just like getting high, it's fun. And I don't just sit around and do nothing like a lot of stoners, I usually at least play guitar or draw. I do these things off weed too so I'm not one of those "weed inspires me" kinda guys. Though I have written and drawn a few awesome things UI. But i work with this guy who pretty much lives for nothing but highs HE talks about weed so much that I want to smoke it much less. Not out of fear I may becoem him, there's no way in that, but because I wanna save my money for school anyway and I'd be unable to get around this guy without him knowing I'm buying a sack... and if I had some I know he'd be asking me to smoke everyday til I ran out and then the following week talking about how he wishes we had some bud. He goes to plasma centers several times a week to either get pot money or the help his mom pay rent. I feel bad for the guy and wanna tell him to at least stop buying other drugs, because pot quitting woul dbe too much to ask. But anyways... I like to toke, especically with good friends because we always go on adventures. I don't like getting high and being afraid to leave the house. I'd rather go do something. Eat that anti-drug PSA.

i actually got better at doing things (writing, playing guitar, etc) after i started doing drugs. not to toot my own horn or anything, but i was a shitty writer for the first 12 or 13 years of my life and i don't really need to say much more than that. then again, maybe this is true because i've never taken drugs or drank to deal with problems.

i don't know. the point is it really has done me no harm, and i think that this quote is certainly applicable in my situation:
"i hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, insanity, or violence to anyone but they've always worked for me." (hunter s thompson)
