I stop to pick up a good cup of coffee on my way to work, and I eat lunch, and I talk face to face with real people all day, so I am conscious of my hygiene, including what my breath is like. I brush my teeth at least twice a day at work. That's much better than trying to hide bad breath with gum or mints.
I also keep shaving cream and disposable razors in my desk drawer. I've even been tempted to do the old 1950s thing of keeping a fresh shirt in my desk drawer, just as a precaution.

Brush 3x daily. Floss every time anything enters my mouth. Piece of candy? Floss. Forced to take "Just one little-teeny-weeny bite!!" of some fatass coworker's double fudge brownie? Floss. Chew gum? Floss. |

My teeth have been severely damaged in a number of ways. Blunt-force trauma to the cheek when I was just a little thing. Didn't heal properly, but I did get look a bit like Owen Wilson in Darjeeling Limited. Also, car accident in which I smacked my bottom row pretty badly. Oh, and I once tried to "clean" my teeth by scraping off the plaque with a razor blade. Pretty much lost all enamel. Then I refused braces. So I'd say all in all, they could be doing a lot worse.

I know it's tempting but you could be damaging enamel. Oh, right I just read above. I once tried to sort of push up a impacted wisdom tooth with a kitchen knife. Bad idea.

Yes. Numb, but sore is how I remember it. Getting punched in the cheek. Been there... often. See previous post. By the way, who in the hell is going around punching women in the face? |

I wear braces. They aren't as painful as many seem to think... aside from when they tighten it every so often. I've had many disturbing experiences with dentists and at the orthodontist though since I was little. I once bit a dentists finger when she tried to take an x ray of my teeth. Another thing that occurred was one of the tools malfunctioning resulting in liquid pouring out and dripping all over me. The lady just kept saying sorry and using it anyways. My hair was soaked when I walked out and she jokingly retorted "my! I gave you a shower!". I think she enjoyed it. And just recently... I was stuck with this lady who worked at a quick pace and basically poked my lips numerous times with the wire (they use plyers to adjust the wire and cut the ends sticking out). And that foul breath of hers was nauseating.
I've never been adequate when it comes to taking care of my teeth. I don't smile too often so this is hardly noticed by others. |

When you're in your 30's, getting braces is not the most appealing notion. No more so than when you're twelve. Especially when your dental coverage is shit on toast. I'd take them if I could though, honestly. |

it's an example to follow
to brush your theet at work i find last time at work we were talking about smokers and someone said 'there breath stinks hard' and i as a smoker directly agreed and sayed: 'yes, smokers have a stinking breath' also agree that if non-smokers are not in the mood to make their clothes stink to smoke from tobacco not to mention the smog froms cars that give me pain in the stomic and headache, but that is another issue cars vs tobacco the car industry is powerfull in money while the tobacco industry is not brush many times as i can 3X is good for a day |
