Does this mean your hands smell worse than feet? My boy, you have much more to worry about than you suspect. |

I've got M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis, or chronic fatigue syndrome if you prefer). It means I feel dizzy and weak most of the time, get about three hours sleep a night, have incredible pains that appear and dissappear at random (my left wrist is quite bad at the moment). I got it eleven years ago, and had to give up working as a sports coach because for the first six months or so it was so bad that I couldn't even stand up half the time. I work part time at something else now - they are very understanding of it.
It also means that my body is generally very low on energy, which opens the door to other things, or means that it takes longer to clear them up. It's alao why I occaisionally disappear from the forum for a couple of days. And it's why my posts are sometimes mis-spelt - it's just hitting the wrong keys due to shakiness. I do try to edit them afterwards though! Sometimes in the morning I still can't stand up - it's quite literally impossible - and sometimes I get half way through a meal and lose the energy to lift the food to my mouth or eat it - again,it's impossible. It's surprising how much energy it takes to eat a meal. When I go out, sometimes I have to avoid places with steps, because I know that they'll be out of the question that day. You get the picture, anyway. It affects me in other ways too, and means I have to plan everything around it a bit. But everything else in life is great, so that's okay.

*Turns off sarcasm button* You poor bugger, that sounds awful. It's one of those weird things that not many people know about - I didn't know about the sleep thing. My sympathy sir.

I have pancreantitis and I have to take a pill everytime I eat. I've had it since I was 7. No big deal.
I can't play sports though... because if I get hit in the stomach my pancreas will flip out and start being a pussy. |

Thanks.
Like I say, it's been eleven years, so it's my version of normal to be ill. I've got used to it a lot, and learned to adapt or whatever. And, also like I said, everything else is good. Great wife, nice enoigh home in a decent area, great employers, enough money (just!) to follow my interests etc etc. Things are pretty nice in every other respect. And there's always the internet. The lack of sleep is one of the reasons I spend so much time online (that, and because I love you all).

Well, the way I see it is that getting miserable would be letting it beat me. And I'm quite competitive when I can be bothered...
On a lighter note, the pupil in my right eye is almost always smaller than the pupil in my left, sometimes very noticeably so. edit: you're all being too kind. I'm touched (that's not sarcasm, by the way!). Thanks, and love. Sebastian.

No. My feet smell like hands, and my hands smell like hands. Actually, it depends on whose hands we're talking about here. I've smelled some pretty nasty hands. Don't ask. It's a serious issue. I need to address it ASAP, but you know... |
