Once my 11th grade history teacher refered to him as "Kurt Blow-Brain".
It was pretty lame. |

Hey man, if someone...anybody on this earth... is a "dumbass heroin junky suicidal overrated talentless asshole"... What are you gonna do? Make fun of him... or try to help him?!? Do you think making fun of him, makes you cool...or special...or what the fuck do you want to think about it. You should get mad on 50 Cent not on Kurt Cobain, cause you're NOT right... I'm not a Nirvana fan at all, but i'm saying this cause many bands/people should be thankful to them, like Cobain was with his favorite bands. ..."about a boy / beyond it all"... (Patti Smith) |

If he hanged himself I would have used:
How do you get Kurt Cobain off a tree? Cut off the rope |

I guess you didn't see "Blades of Glory" yet. They pretty much say he was killed for cheating on his wife, which is most UN catholic of him. |

I defy you to write a song 1/100 as great as Nirvana's worst songs. Better yet, do it strung out and depressed. Let's see what you'll come up with, you fool.

None of that shit is funny. There's no joking about Kurt Cobain's suicide. That's just fucked up.

wow, there are some uptight people here... I don't know, I expect SY fans to be a little more - liberal I guess. Some of those jokes are in bad taste, but it's something else I'm getting at. I don't know, I didn't know the guy so maybe it doesn't matter to me but so many people here act like death is this really unatural thing... It's hard to explain what I'm getting at - it's like this warped view of life, I wish this guy was still around making music for ME - instead of being glad that he was here.
And it's like if those jokes are the worst thing you can say about kurt cobain then that's pretty fucking good going. You know - Like I'm sure a lot of you are okay with michael jackson jokes? Is that just because he's not dead? |

I think the main 'objection' is how out of date they are.
Sick jokes serve a purpose. When a tragedy happens, humour has a place in helping us try to understand or at least cope with the situation. Hence, I'm sure there will be/are jokes about the Virginia killings. The time elapsed makes these jokes pointless and shows them for what they are: lame and unecessary. |

I normally don't care much for tasteless and cheap jokes, but i skipped the first post as his death really affected me when it happened. Sounds corny and too sentimental, but especially in his last days, he seemed like a seriously and disturbingly troubled person. I don't listen to Nirvana all that much anymore, because an album like 'In Utero' reminds me of a time and a place that brings back bad memories. The music remains some of the best and most intense that i've ever listened to, regardless. I'm not even criticising whoever started this thread, it's just that he's one of those people that i really feel like not joking about. We often forget what an articulate person he came accross as in interviews, how truly inspirational Nirvana were in a live setting and how downright handsome this tortured creature was. I just wish that there wouldn't have been such small talk about this tragedy (because a tragedy it is). On the rare occasions that i think about him, i get all misty eyed, so i apologize if this is such a sentimental post. On the day he died , i remember going into a church with a friend and lighting a candle, a silly gesture, but it meant a lot. Again, apologies for this post, but Nirvana turn me into a teenage boy all over again.
