I remember sitting in my family living room and seeing my mother approaching me. Upon her harsh walk up to myself, I thought, "what did I do wrong this time?"
I was about 2 years old. |

a. Sesame Street bounce-chair with Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Cookie Monster.
b. Watching my older cousin play Donkey Kong on Colecovision c. Turning on my brand new NES (top-loader, still runs excellent) XMAS morning '93 when I was 2 (almost 3). d. Batman bike e. Bonk's Adventure on TurboGrafx16. I know I owned a TGX16 at some point in my childhood. I'm not exactly sure when this was, or what happened to the system since. The only proof of this I have are my memories of Bonk, and my copy of Keith Courage. f. Describing the plot of the movie Jack to a video clerk based on it's currently-running theatrical trailer, when I was 5, and being led to a copy of Billy Madison instead. |

when i was really little. my brother used to ride an ATV around our yard.. and i got on it without any experience. i was doing fine for a while going in circles around the house. then i lost control and really got caught up in how fast i was going and i didn't want to stop. then i realized that as i was going into my next door neighbors fence, i wouldn't have been able to stop or turn in time so i just went right through it. i went to the emergency room and they told me without a helmet i couldve gotten a concussion. that was fun..
the neighbors were in their drive way as it happened. and i ran over some of their flowers and some of my upper body was being dragged on the ground as they had to stop the ATV because i almost passed out.. then a few days later they had to rebuild the fence. I'm sure they were pissed at me. I'm a fucking moron. |

My first one is of running up past the side of the house with this extreme pain in my knee. Why my knee hurt I wasn't really sure at the moment, I didn't even really know where I was going. But my body was kind of on autopilot. I ran up to this green door and went inside this house I didn't really recognize but somehow knew. Ran upstairs for reasons I didn't know at the time, ran into my Mom's room that I didn't know was her room or even that I had a Mom and exclaimed to her without thinking while she was sitting on the bed watching Star Trek or something "Mommy, I got stung by a bee!"
Sure enough, there was a stinger sticking out of my knee, and it hurt like hell. She then just pulled it out and kissed my knee and all of those other things mothers do for their kids. I was three or four. Next one is waking up one morning and going into the backyard and seeing my dead dog Princess just slumped in the middle of the yard. I don't have any memory of her being alive, just that one time she was dead. And then watching Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. First movie I ever watched.

we had a beat up old ford escort that had been in a crash but it still ran. There were no back seats and the windows were all busted. It was for me to learn how to drive on. We would go to the nieghbor's field in the summer that had grown about 7' tall with weeds and drive the car blinly through it with grass hoppers jumping into the back of the car along the way. it was AWESOME! until I started doing fishtails in the sand on the dirt road and ended up jumping the ditch into the train embankment. Daddy did not let me get my license till I was 17 for that little accident.

I remember a lot. Things that could have been dreams too. I remember more stuff from my childhood than I do my teenage years. Substances may have something to do with that, but generally my short term memory is shit, like a fish or something.

last year in july i was in a car with my older brother, he was driving. and some car in front of us to our left had a tire that i guess lost control or something and his car was sliding to the right and we drove right into it. pretty scary because there were a shit load of cars around us and behind us. it couldve turned into a HUGE accident but luckily it didn't. that was the first real crash ive ever been in in a car. besides this one time where a young lady didn't know how to use her breaks and lightly hit the back of my moms car at a stop light.
also, I remember A LOT of things. the only thing i don't remember is when i was 1 or 2 years old. sometimes i just daydream and try to see what i can remember in order.. starting from when i was 3 years old. |
