This is a tough question to answer coming from a "broken home", so to speak. My dad makes a shitload of money (or at least more than I could ever hope for), and my mom barely makes enough to support herself. My brothers and I have gotten by on my dad's child support, but that stopped for me months ago. My dad likes to pretend that he doesn't make as much as he really does, but that's just in front of me and my brothers. He thinks that if we knew his exact salary, we would expect more from him than he gives us, which is stupid because I do know his salary and I can't remember the last time I asked him for something. If my brothers didn't have his child support, we would be living below the poverty line. It's a strange situation.

Well, yeah that is what classes are. Lower working class, is a bit of a step up from poor.

i grew up in an upwardly mobile middle-class family but then fucked it all up & became an underclass bohemian nobody. oh the joys of having no money and no job. lately i have no clue, i have a lot of education but a strange lifestyle. bohemian-bourgeois? no idea. my brother is definitely upper middle class, along the family tradition, but im just weird.

What's your reason for existence? Do you believe in anything? Or does your lifestyle contradict The words you write for the songs you sing? Sing -- Sing -- Sing -- Sing -- 1 -- 2 -- 3 -- Go! Are you happy in your work As you protest about the unemployed? You don't wanna work but you need the money The reality you can't avoid But do you wanna work Do you wanna work Do you really wanna work for the money? Do you wanna work Do you wanna work Do you really wanna work for the system? Are you happy as you vote To keep the parasites alive? You don't want to vote but you think you should They said it was right and you never asked why But do you want to vote Do you want to vote Do you really want to vote for your conscience? Do you want to vote Do you want to vote Do you really want to vote for the system? Are you happy signing up In the army just to get some pay? Fighting a war without a cause Can you manage to ignore your self-decay? But do you want to fight Do you want to fight Do you really want to fight for your country? Do you want to fight Do you want to fight Do you really want to fight for the system? You're their reason for existence They use you to finance their state The words you shout with such conviction Is it the only way to express your hate?

Who tells you that and why are you listening to such blatant lies? Middle i guess, my partner and I earn quite a reasonable amount between us and live very comfortably. I come from working class background, was the first in my family to go to university and bust the opressive shackles of working for other people. Work for myself (freelance) don't have to work overly hard (delegation is wonderful) but had to work hard to get to the stage of not having to work so hard. |

I'm officially working-class, poor church mice. However I'm always told that im extremely middle-class and sound like i'm 'posh'. People look at me and think I have it all and come from privilage. "What has that rich tosspot got to moan about". When in reality i'm about as poor as one can be. My house also looks like we have spent lots of money on decorators and stuff, but its all stuff I made with my mum, its all DIY. So actually my middle-classness is all just an accidental illusion. Im a working-class anti-hero...
