it's just a fucking overpriced coffee shop, who gives a fuck about it or coffee or a cd you don't have to buy? jesus. the only good thing about starbucks, we have 3 in our town, and all 3 of them have the prettiest girls i've ever seen in my town of 42,000 people. they have to be doing SOMETHING right...

1) probably not bo diddley, but chuck berry and little richard have sold MILLIONS of records.

2) you idealize labels like if they were the holy grail of the world, THEY ARE ALSO BUSINESSES!! (oh sorry, "bizenesses"); lookout get royalties from green day and not just their first two albums, matador do drop bands when they don't sell enough records just like the majors (see bardo pond) and drag city now have international distribution; i don't see how you consider these labels small or fringe.

there was this coffee house in federal hill (baltimore) that was the best meat market EVARR.

they have since changed location i believem they used to be on charles st.
