Don't listen to that cheapskate in the video. It's a know fact that windows runs better on a mac. OS on a pc? Ha! Ha! It's like someone trying real hard to turn their Suzuki into a Ferrari. Don't forget to put an orange on your aerial bozzo. |

Perhaps, but the OS is simple enough you can get a Mac Mini and virtually forget about hardware. That's what I've done. In the ideal world, I'd have a perfect OS on a chip that I didn't even see. Who the fuck wants hardware? You go to Home Depot for that shit. |

No one makes viruses for Macs because no one cares. I should have expected the indie kids to root for the underdog, in this case Mac. I don't care, I will always support PCs. Apple have the worst propaganda style ads too.

****BULLSHIT**** I HAVE A MAC BOOK PRO i just got it. brand new. i didnt exactly pay for it but they gave it to my wife at work. she gave it to me to play-- ive been talking about getting a mac for a while now. 17" core duo 4gb etc. with all manner of software installed. top of the line shit. so far: #1 it's not a laptop. it's a heavy clunky-ass tabletop #2 the lid is so heavy when you uSe it in bed the shit falls down and closes itself. IT'S BRAND NEW. like this: the heavy-ass piece of shit "ferrari" lid drops shut. prrrrrrrttttttt PAFFF. wtf. useless. #3 i like the magsafe cord. but it's so fucking short. wtf???? stingy fuckers. #4 it looks like it scratches fucking easy. anyway. more reports to you stalinists later. heil steve!!! cabezota. the hardware is what runs the software. if your screen dies, your power supply burns, your cpu melts, your memory fries, your keyboard locks or your mouse stops moving the pointer your hard drive runs out of space your good software is useless. hardware is important-- it's what you interact with and what runs shit. which is why apple switched from motorola to intel in their CPUs. SMART FUCKING MOVE. but they still need more improvements. their shit is pretty, but FLIMSY. and your mac mini is fucking slow. and it's being discontinued. oh yes. -------- i wish the discussion here went beyond the superficial brainwash and touched on real issues. behold: http://blogs.pcworld.com/staffblog/archives/006314.html pro, cons, etc, instead of propaganda regurgitation. a worthy debate. ANYWAY. my temperature is over 100F so i get to be an ass. ha! Quote:
my thinkpad crashed once when i installed a program that exceeded the specs. that's it. i did it. on purpose. i've never had a virus on a pc. viruses are for idiots. a mac i've used for final cut pro editing and which meets system requirements has crashed frequently. but im not complaining about OSX-- OSX IS AWESOME but it' trapped in mediocre hardware. yes. it is true. overpriced too. sorry if this hurts. * i wanna liberate it* thinkpads series X and T are WAY better quality hardware than macbook pros. put osx on a thinkpad = blow everything else out of the water. FACT. ------------ oh great buddha who preached the need for discrimination please whack people on the head so they can perceive subtle distinctions. hurray |

Let face it. The only reason why someone would install OS on a pc is because they can't afford the real deal.
Once you go mac, you'll never go back. |

I must be honest with you. I thought it was a bad idea when they started making macs with intel processors.
I own a quicksilver G4 and an ibook, and have NEVER had to reinstall OS since I bought them 5-6 years ago. I've done some serious 2 or 3 hour video projects with the G4, and it still runs smoothly. *No need to touch wood* That lid issue is not acceptable. I'd take it back if I were you. I'll bet that you'll get a brand spanking new one out of the box. No questions asked. Dropping ANY computer is a bad idea, by the way. |

ha ha yeah. well my almost 5 year old thinkpad has survived many accidents and here i am typing on it.
the lid apparently is a design flaw: http://www.foldedspace.org/weblog/20...ek_review.html dude sez: "The biggest nuisance on the MacBook Pro is the lid — it won't stay open. On the Powerbook, the lid is stiff — if you open it, it stays in place. You can swing the computer around in all directions, and the lid won't budge at all. But on the MacBook Pro, the lid moves at the slightest provocation. I often write in bed. This is difficult to do when the lid of your computer falls shut when elevated even a tiny bit. My MacBook Pro's touchpad is poorly fitted, too. On the left side, it sits below the case, but on the right side it rises above it. The differences are slight — fractions of a millimeter — but noticeable in daily use. I'm torn. I want to love my MacBook Pro unconditionally, but I don't. I love it as a computer, but not as a product that I hope to live with for several years. I love my Powerbook, and yet it doesn't meet my needs." --- yeah we'll send it back, it just took a while for the IT guys to load all the software and now we'll have to start all over... gack |

Seriously ?????????
Try rendering large 3DMAX/Maya/AfterFX/Primiere projects with a standard home computer before you say that. I'd also like to mention that Vista is the worst version of Windows ever made. |

No problem whatsoever with a standard G4 or G5 Desktop/laptop.
