Plastic People? I remember seeing them live in 1999 in Bratislava, about a month before Hlavsa (lead singer and bass player) died of cancer. In general opinion their best output was done during harsh communist times in Czechoslovakia (1980-1989), they were badly persecuted, their public performance was banned etc.
Nevertheless, their later output has not been that convincing. I love the rhyme: "My zijeme v Praze, to je tam, kde se jednou zjevi Duch sam" meaning: "We live in Prague, it's where once the Spirit itself will appear"

My favourite is definitely Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Band - that's a great choice. Muž bez Uží actually stands for Man with no Ears.

Man With No Ears is a re-issue of live recordings. Thanks, I didn't know that Muz Bez Uzi meant that. |

It's cool that this band gets the international recognition that it deserves - even years after their highlights have been issued.

I came across some old copies of the NME in the 80's that had reviews of their records as well as articles about Diamanda Galas etc. The times have changed. |

Oh really? I wonder how the world had gone to know them in the 80s, when they were so badly persecuted in Czechoslovakia.
