I suspect this is really a battles for numbers 3-20, once Kid A and Sonic Nurse are out of the way, in all likely hood. I think this one'll be a lot more open than the last generally though.

Done. Though this one was more difficult than the all time one, since I have hardly any music from the 2000s.

vision creation newsun was my # 1 on the other top things list.
I haven't sent in anything for this. No offense, I just don't see the point for reasons that a few other posters have noted. |

Yeah, I can understand that.
Hmm, I made this thread because I think that this top 20 should be more surprising and more representative of the board than the general top 20 was. I don't mean that it was disapointing, but it was only made of classics - which is perfectly normal. As no album is really considered as "classic" in the 2000's - we only have our personnal classics -, I think this top should really represent our tastes - even if yeah, it's missing the one year and a half that's going to happen; another one will probably be done by somebody when 2010 will come anyway... I don't know if I've explained myself clearly or what, but well --> and the top for the moment is actually pretty unpredictible, though there's still a lot of albums at 10 points |

1. Alice, Tom Waits
2. Be Your Own Pet, Be Your Own Pet 3. Lifted, Bright Eyes 4. You Are Free, Cat Power 5. Where The Humans Eat, Willy Mason 6. Sonic Nurse, Sonic Youth 7. Orphans, Tom Waits 8. Guero, Beck 9. Is This It?, The Strokes 10. Post-War, M. Ward It's sort of out of a real order but I know Alice is my favourite of the decade so far. |

I'm not really sure if there's gonna be an obvious winner like DDN. I'm really struggling to think of an album released so far this decade that has pretty much unified the board. I'm sure there is one, but can't think what. Certainly nothing by SY.

I was trying to think of a place to put sung tongs but it barely got inched out. That album's amazing though.

I know. Feels and Strawberry Jam are weak sauce compared to Danse Manatee and Sung Tongs.

When are the results going to be announced?
My list was kind of weird because I've hardly listened to any post-2000 music in over a year, especially in the last 6 months or so, during which I've been primarily focused on free-jazz, and now drone/experimental type stuff. This means I have some 2000s droney music at the moment, but having only really been hardcore into it for a short while I’m not yet comfortable placing it in my favourites. So apart from a couple my list is largely a set of albums that I used to like but wouldn’t really listen too at the moment. It doesn’t help that the only 3 Sonic Youth studio albums I don’t have are NYC Ghosts & Flowers, Sonic Nurse and Murray Street (which I know I should get). I did put Destroyed Room on there though (does that count?), but that’s mainly because I have a special relationship to it due to it being only the third or so thing I got by them, and basically my introduction to the world of noisey improv stuff. |

Thanks to the both of you, Hayden and atsonic. I bet that your lists are doing #1, #2, etc? (so Xiu Xiu is #1 for Hayden and Secret Chiefs 3 #1 for atsonic)
