Oh shit yeah he is, that is a good movie. But it wouldn't put it over a Murray-thon for me. Although a Newman-extravaganza would be quite possibly the best. |

I love young couples who each adore older celebrities.
Someone should write a movie script of that. |

for the record, I never said I liked John Cusack more than Bill Murray.

Pushing Tin Roadside Prophets (his cameo is worth the inclusion) The Grifters Sixteen Candles how long do you have to sit in front of a TV for a complete marathon series? Cusack-apalooza almost made me miss oHgr. a Bill Murray-a-thon would give you hemorrhoids. |

I'm in the middle of a mini Gene Wilder-a-thon right now. Young Frankenstein and now the Producers. Might follow it with Blazing Saddles. Also have Willy Wonka,Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex but were afraid to ask, Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, and Hear No Evil/See No Evil. but it's too late in the day for that.
Also, as much as I love Gene and Marty Feldman, I've never seen The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother or whatever it's called.

also have and cannot believe these have been left off; Identity Max Run Away Jury Bullets over Broadway Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil I have all these on dvd, except for the grifters only VHS ...as well as most of his other films which I will not mention but do still watch for the perv factor(the sure thing, hot pursuit etc). I have a massive John Cusack fetish also,(he is like 6 foot 6... and only seems to get sexier with age......mmmmmmmm) but that is for a different thread. Cusack-apalooza can be next week. |

1408 was slightly more than meh, and I'm not afraid to admit I love Serendipity and not just for the Kate Beckinsale eye-candy.

Bill Murray - yes...
This got me thinkin' about the other early SNL male cast - like Dan Akroyd, John Belushi and Chevy Chase - and how I grew up watching all their movies. John Belushi was in two of my all time favourite films, 'Blues Brothers' and 'Animal House'. And the stuff I've seen of him from those old Saturday Night Live shows were awesome. Who knows what he would have come up with if it wasn't for the issue of being dead. However he loses points for having Jim Belushi as a brother. Likewise, Dan Ackroyd rules for 'Blues Brothers', 'Ghostbusters' and even his cameo in 'Twilight Zone - the movie'. But ahem - 'Driving Miss Daisy?' 'My Girl??'.... As for Chevy Chase, I dunno... I suppose I still like the 'Fletch' series, but I've grown out of the 'Vacation' series. I think the last time I saw him was playing a murderer or rapist on one of the Law&Order franchises, SVU or CI or FCUK... So yeah, on that basis - Bill Murray wins out for consistency. Shoulda got an Oscar for Lost in Translation. On a personal note, if I did a luvvy-film-fest-worship for someone, if would have to be Clint. (Not Bronco Bill or the ones with the orangutang) |

Have you seen Bill Murray in person? He is not a handsome individual.

He looks to be in pretty decent shape.
I'd say he's aging quite well for a guy that was kind of weird looking to begin with. Just about any of his films would be worth adding to a marathon of his work. Even his worst films generally feature good work from him. |
