adam don't eat tempera paint. I don't know why he posted this. Are you taking the piss?? Just because it's water based doesn't mean the pigments aren't toxic. Jesus.

FYI Rob in case you were being serious. And adam for your general reading. Lots of pigments are very toxic even with skin contact, they can contain heavy metals, others are carcinogenic. All of them should be handled carfully if especially if you are using them in powder form. Please be careful.

that is true. But generally speaking what is found in pigments is not found in food stuffs, or in levels anywhere near so high. One is made for eating, one is not.

I wouldn't do it, because as mentioned already it could affect your stomach (outside of you vomiting it up, of course) pretty badly. Of course, if a possible hospital visit doesn't scare you, and you really want to create this style of art, then proceed with heavy caution I'd say.

reminds me of this it's a part from a belgian comedy show, they made these fake reports on people or happenings, often kind of sad. this one is about a housewife who joins a kind of artist hobby club and starts making painting while throwing up. watch it till the end, it gets awesome! |

om nom nom nom. paint them down with paint containing led for extra effect. we once had an american teacher giving an oil painting class. apparently she's not allowed to teach unless the rooms have a certain ventilation system. you should have seen her face when we told her the windows didn't even open in this classroom. after six hours, every single student and the teacher were... quite high. |
