The Harder They Come (jamaica's first feature film). it was great, but we had to have the subtitles on the whole time. before that, i watched Battle Royale.

"The Harder They Come" is great, and despite its title its not a porno. And its great for people who aren't generally exposed to reggae music because "You Can Get It if you Really Want" "The Harder They Come" are such great groovy songs. Still haven't seen "Battle Royale" though. |

you gotta see 'battle royale' at least once. my girlfriend came home singing 'you can get it if you really want' one night and it was just funny because: a. she doesn't like reggae, generally and b. she was taunting in the most absurd manner.

'Enduring Love' on Film Four.
I liked it. I love Rhys Ifans quite a lot lately. Took me ages to find the book on my shelves during the ad-breaks... |

I just watched Artificial Intelligence: A.I. Parts of it were really well done, but Spielberg seemingly just couldn't handle ending the movie when he should have done so. The alien stuff in the last 45 minutes was both completely unbelievable and majorly unnecessary. Too bad, would have been a great SF movie. Still better than average by far.
