mangajunky - The Beyond is defintely worth a look, as is also "The House By The Cemetery". I would avoid "Nightmare Concert" though - a very poor film all round, that.

I just watched Blow with my friends in my dorm.
I didn't know Penelope Cruz was in it, and when I saw her, it made my night. |

The Beyond is amazing. My 2nd favorite Fulci flick. I have a copy that's called seven doors of death on dvd, but it's uncut... it's some budget title another company besides Anchor Bay cut but rest assured it's completely uncut.. it's worth tracking down the Anchor Bay version though because of all the cool special features.
Street Trash is amazing, it's not my favorite melt movie (that honor would go to Body Melt... though Slime City is awesome as well), but it's fucking hilarious, the dude who made it is a preacher now or some shit and he hates that film. |

little otik - 7/10 Bizarre and entertaining film from the guy who made Faust and Alice. If you like those films you'll enjoy this one though it does seem a bit too long and drawn out at times. dracula: pages from a virgin's diary - 8/10 This is only the 2nd Guy Maddin film I've seen, but if his other films are this great then I'll go ahead and say he's probably the best North American director around currently. This film is fucking genius. It's a silent film (from 2003) that's also a ballet about Dracula. Way more interesting than it sounds, trust me. Fast-paced with beautiful music and eye-popping visuals... a truely original and awesome film. night at the golden eagle - 7/10 Adam Rifkin is a very curious director... he's directed straight-up dark and crazy films like The Dark Backward and this, goofy and hilarious trash like Psycho Cop 2 and The Invisible Maniac, not to mention a family film or two, Detroit Rock City (?!?!), and The Chase.. you know, that movie where Kristy Swanson has sex with Charlie Sheen while they're driving. None of his films are anything alike whatsoever... anyway, this is a dark and depressing but pretty awesome film.. |

That's the version of 7 DOORS I have also. The spine is like a purple with red letters? That company is cool. And cheap. There's another cheapo company too... damn I forget. Slim cases. They sell a cheap version of SLEEPAWAY CAMP that is the uncut version in disguise. |

I didn't have any improved impression of Sienna Miller afterwards either

Oh. You might not like it then. I loved DONNIE DARKO, which is why I saw SOUTHLAND TALES. It's crazy. It's not at all like Darko. It's just really weird. But I liked it. Can't really describe it.

OK. The tip of the iceburg of the plot: The Rock is a powerful politician who wakes up in the desert with amnesia and a screenplay that he wrote about the end of the world, and everything that happens from that point on is scripted in that screenplay.

the burning - 8/10 Was shocked at how much I liked this! I knew I'd like it, but wow.. great atmosphere, doesn't stray too far from other horror clichés but it definitely delivers in every area it needs to deliver in. femme fatale - 7/10 Another one I was surprised with the quality of. I'm a big DePalma fan but I'm not going to pretend like he's done anything amazing in forever... however, this film really shocked me, it harkened back to classics like Body Double, Blow Out, Obsession, etc... a bit too long, but the cinematography was amazing, there wasn't a lot of dialogue (which is awesome)... the only thing was, it was a bit too long and the twists were a bit unneccessary but that's to be expected with DePalma.. kids - 5/10 When this came out in 1995, I'm sure it was shocking and insane and mindblowing, but there have been so many films since then (and actually before then) that explored teenage degeneration that this was actually pretty boring to me. I'm not really a fan of Korine (who co-wrote this) though I'm going to check out other Larry Clark films, because this was well-made and pretty funny at times but all in all didn't do much for me.. |

Honestly, I though the film was ... gross. I know that was intentional, to display all this stuff in a non-glamarous way.. but ew. From the first frame of watching a 17 year and a 12 year old sticking each other's tongues down each other's throats, I was just like, ew.
