Bullshit thought of the day: Some may think of playing with a frisbee as pure casual fun, but it's actually quite intense. It's an epic struggle between two or more parties unsuccessfully trying to get rid of an undesired object. It gets passed around like some sort of currency. Only no one actually wants that damn thing. "There you go, take it." - "No! You take it." - "The fuck I will.". It's one of the few instances people actively say no to material possessions. Some deep shit right there.

I am disappointed by your lack of faith. But I am certain one day you too will learn the truth about those spinning discs. And we'll all acknowledge the sacrifices made by those fine people on camping site 4. The struggle is real. |

HEB supermarket on Labor Day is a crazy place to be. Judging by the over stuffed shopping carts......the local economy is flourishing!!!

It's still amazing to me though that after all this time, close to a decade after the Youff disbanded, there are still new people, hell, entirely new generations of people signing up here to be a part of the conversation. It's amazing there even still is a conversation at all. Not exclusively but in no small part thanks to folks like you, hats off to ya, big time. |

I remember when I first joined this place, I was still in university and NYC Ghosts & Flowers was just coming out.
Time flies.

Picked up my year 12 hoodie from school today, looks nice and comfortable. No great loyalty to my school, but I mostly got it so I didn't miss out.

Hey, such articles sometimes are the best things to take away from certain schools. No kidding. I absolutely hated the school I graduated from, but if nothing else, I got to keep a good kitchen knife (actually a whole set of useful kitchen utensils) and a few nice recipes in the process. Yeah, I went to a school with mandatory cooking classes. |

With every passing house if commons session Johnson looks more and more useless. A chancer who's been found out. Shame we've got another 4½ years of this.

I'm still primarily a metalhead, but am glad I got to see SY live at least once when they were still together. Even got to meet Thurston later on during a solo show. There's a reason I have the Bad Moon Rising art inked on my right bicep.
I view Sonic Youth with the same amount of warmth which I reflect on my childhood KoRn obsession with. Both groups were pivotal in forming my taste as an adult. Still love weird guitar sounds to death. Had it not been for Sonic Youth, I'd have never ended up here and explored all the post-punk and shoegaze during my late teens as I did. Hell, even dabbled into the noise scene for a second - got to meet Wolf Eyes and everything! It's come full circle ultimately. Now I mostly listen to a lot of Deftones. Best of both worlds. Black and doom metal too. Meh. |
