The DEMS Are Growing Desperate.
Sadly, I see where groups of young women are laying down in the streets, blocking traffic in hopes of.....?? I hope they don’t get arrested because life can be difficult enough without having a record. Way back when GW Bush appointed Kavanaugh a Federal Judge, no one said boo about it. No one crying about Kavanaugh throwing ice and their abortion rights. Kavanaugh underwent background checks then and nothing came up. Why??? Because the DEMS didn’t fight it. I wonder if Mrs Blasey was too busy flying around and living life to be hampered with being a victim? Maybe now she has a book deal?? How many of you would lose your jobs if your boss saw a picture of you smoking a joint 5-10-20 years ago......wonder how many reading this plan on getting high this weekend? |

I just saw video of a Women’s March leader and she was loudly criticizing “white wives and their white husbands” for supporting Trump. The crowed started booing and she demanded that all Trump supporters not be allowed to be comfortable at the dinner table or in public. It’s moving from a pissing contest to a shit show! It started last night with the arrest of Jackson Cosko. I’ve said it multiple times in this thread......people are allowing themselves to be consumed by bitterness and bitterness always leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. If Kavanaugh is confirmed Saturday, I guess the left will be left with the Mueller investigation......does anyone remember Mueller? |

Some are consumed with bitterness. Some are consumed with patriotism.
And it's pretty crazy that you think the left consists of raging, out of control psychos while the right are all quaint and quiet. What do you make of this meme which is so popular among Trumpians? Funny? Switch the word "democrat" with "republican." Still funny? |

I had not seen that......but it’s good for a chuckle on a Thursday evening : )
YES - I would say patriotism is better than bitterness, but one should never allow it to cause harm to themselves or others! Possibly you can help me remember when the Republicans had constituents confront Democratic Senators in elevators or had a staffer make phone numbers and addresses public......because I don’t recall that happening? Maybe that time when a Republican who owned a restaurant refused service to someone on Obama’s staff? Just last weekend Texas Senator Ted Cruze and his wife were chased out of a Washington DC restaurant because Democratic constituents wouldn’t leave them alone. I’m not trying to represent Republicans as doing everything right -actually, far from it- but I don’t recall this sort of behavior in recent years......but any help remembering is greatly appreciated!!! Procedural vote on Kavanaugh locked in at 10:30 am Friday.
Senate meets at 9:30 am Friday. By rule, cloture "ripens" for one hour after the Senate meets. IF cloture is invoked (around 11 am)......the 30 hour clock begins. Confirmation vote would occur around 5 pm Saturday. |

YES - I did forget......was that really in 2015? Such hatred for Ted Cruz?? I’ll be voting for him next month! NO - you show me! Because you can go back to the beginning of this thread and you won’t find me banging the drum for anyone. Matter of fact, I was 99% absent from this thread until March/April of this year and it’s mostly been about procedure, evidence and the process in general. I shared my opinions which are generally conservative. You’ll see where many here have cursed me and called me an idiot, but you won’t find where I’ve attacked anyone or made it personal. |

yes it’s true, you havent attacked anyone personally. [eta: but you sound like you’re threatening the potheads, which is kinda creepy] i don’t know about you not beating the drum for anyone—your purportedly impartial posts about procedure and evidence and process are a bit disingenuous, i’d say at times even cynical. your comments are evidently partisan and biased. at times i don’t know if you’re serious or trolling. anyway we all have our biases, but it’s funny to see you claim you have none in your posts. cmon... just own it. but anyway i haven’t called you names. i still believe you’re a decent and good person even though some of your information is a bit warped ha ha ha. i blame trump for making indecency great again, and hannity and what’s the idiot with the bow tie, and that clown from infowars, and others, for polluting the airwaves and normalizing lies and alternative facts, which innocents like you somehow believe. in any case, what can i tell you, i support democrats, specialists in failure, and i don’t pretend otherwise. yeah. i own my biases. it’s a big tent party though so i cant agree with everything every democrat says. some here even put me on ignore lol. hate for ted cruz? that’s the province of his senate colleagues, who know and hate him best. and i mean colleagues from his own party. me, i dont spend much time thinking about him. but yeah, fuck him, hahahahaha. lying ted. who called him lying ted? hmmmm.... |

I wish! You're just anti-Democrat (of all stripes--symbols is right; the party isn't a monolith so you'r generalizations usually don't hold up) and blindly pro-Trump. Trump believes in a state controlled economy (tarrifs, bailouts, picking winners and losers) and is hardly conservative in his personal life. Hell, I'm more conservative than he is. No true conservative supports Trump. |

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ruled Friday that the Supreme Court would not step in at this point to stop two top officials from having to sit for depositions about the Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

On the Kavanaugh vote:
Expect the Senate to begin the confirmation vote between 3:45 and 4:00 pm et. Senate clerk will verbally call the roll of all 100 senators alphabetically. Senators will rise from their desks and vote yea or nay. If any demonstrations in the public gallery of the Senate chamber when the vote begins, the Sergeant at Arms will remove those protesters immediately. Anticipation on the final vote tally barring any absences (besides Daines) or surprises......50 yeas, 48 nays with one senator voting present. Daines is NOT counted in the vote tally because you can only vote yes, nor or present. Daines’s absence is noted. |

A few women that I’ve admired and respect have posted and shared things today that boggle the mind:
We Must Disobey We Must Disrupt We Must Make Patriarchy Fear Women White supremacy and patriarchy will not end if Kavanaugh is not confirmed. Defy, disobey and disrupt white supremacy and patriarchy at every turn! ............................................ I can understand privilege, but white supremacy? Hard to fathom this approach will help them in November. |

Prior to the U.S. Senate’s vote on the Supreme Court nominee, a total of 164 individuals were arrested.
As these individuals are stripped search, documentation made of their birthmarks and scars......and then they have to put on clothing that has been worn by all the other inmates over the previous months and years......will they still feel like it was worth it? Of course, if they can afford bail, they can miss out on all that fun......but still have hundreds/thousands in court fees and legal expenses. If they can’t afford bail, it’s a long time until Monday morning. Quote:
