bullets over summer - 7/10 my own private idaho - 7/10 running on karma - 6/10 Now this is one is just ridiculous. An ex Buddhist monk wears a muscle suit and has psychic powers. He tracks down a killer that can hide himself in small tin boxes. The muscle man uses his psychic powers on a dead dog. And the fun begins. Also, watched this shitty short... coward bends the knee - 3/10 There's been times in the past when I thought guy maddin was awesome. This film is terrible though. Hot asian chicks, old men in corsettes, an ice skating rink that houses an underground abortion clinic, and it STILL sucks. I started watching a few other guy maddin discs that came in through netflix and they were all terrible as well. Fuck it. |

I watched gran torino which I'd probably give a low 7/10. It's a bit dull and cliché from a storyline standpoint and nothing you all haven't seen before, but Eastwood's 78-year-old-man-and-he-likes-it/78-year-old-man-what-you-gonna-do-about-it? performance is really awesome.

The Man Who Knew Too Much
Ignorant Americans go to Marakesh see a murder, talk too much, their son gets kidnapped then they fly to London to try and save their son and avert an assassination. Oi vey - enough with Doris Day singing. Jimmy Stewart's fish out of water schtick wears thin. The kid was annoying. I felt like they were stupid people who deserved what happened to them.

I had a crappy day.
I am going to watch "irreversible" now. two chances for me: 1. it will work as a ventile for me, I feel better. 2. it will let me hate this day even more, I feel maybe worse. lets see |

First time I saw irreversible, I was drinking gin. I was drunk by the time the strobe light came on. Good film.

okay I am through it.
makes me wanna see " I stand alone" riht after it, but I need ome sleep. very intense scenes, well known nothing new. the rape scene I thought was way more "cruel"...or to say it better exploitative?! I dunno, it wasnt comforting at all but not as shocking as I thought it would be after Ive seen the extinguisher scene. all in all I like the kinda primitive theme, here and there some interesting ideas thrown in. pretty good if not one of the best "reverse" movies Ive seen |

I love the way "Irreversible" ends, with the scene w/Monica Belluci in the park, whilst Beethoven's 6th Symphony blares out.
"Seul Contre Tous" is good fun, but a tad schlocky - it borrows a few riffs from William Castle too, in a slighty cheesy way.

I used to love it too, but I haven't seen it in forever. Good pick. I might have to pick that up if I ever have money.
