Been watching John Woo movies with a buddy who had new seen his pre-coming-to-America-and-meeting-John-fucking-Travolta(?!) shit. A Better Tomorrow and the Killer and Hard Boiled and Bullet in the Head, all classics.

Is this the Will Smith movie "Pursuit of HappYness"? That's one of the worst movies ever. It did teach us one valuable lesson in life, though.. if you're a black man growing up in a racist, mean world 30 years ago and you have no education whatsoever, you can get a high paying office job and eventually be a millionaire if you can just solve a Reubik's Cube. |

2/10 Complete shit and not even very funny shit at that. Let me try and recreate the discussion that more than likely led to this movie being made (translated from project english into actual english). "You know what would be really awesome? A movie that shows how we do things down here in New Orleans starring all of us as badass gang bangin drug pushers." Everyone in the room agrees, so they set out to make said movie... but none of them know even the first thing about making a movie and it shows. It comes off like a school video class project a bunch of 'g's' got really in to. I watched it cuz I like most of the rappers in it and figured it would be comically bad... it was just bad.

If only the movie was as good as that cover, eh? Don't understand the deal with this movie. It's so trite. It has some good moments I guess but it's 2 hours of some unlikable art school dude moping and whining about his girlfriend leaving him so he stops time to undress girls. WOW! |

I don't know. I liked it and all, but it did seem a little corny... with lines in the beginning like "what is love?" It also annoyed me how depressed the main guy was feeling. They should have made the break-up more dramatic or have the girl die or something... then, I could understand him being so low. I did like the grocery store characters though. All in all, it was good. I could definitely watch it again. |

harsh times - 5/10 This one was fucking hilarious. Christian Bale is SOOOOOOOO terrible in it, one of the worst performances I've ever seen in my life, going "yea dawg let's get fucked upppppp let's get that fucking shit man smoke some fuckin weeeeeed." Sounded so fake and RETARDED. I think there were a few daring moments in the film and it never failed to be interesting but I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch it more than once. I'd mainly reccomend it to see Christian Bale act completely embarassing -- and he produced this turd! I'M A CYBORG, BUT THAT'S OKAY - 7/10 Probably won't be most people's cup of tea; actually, I think this got a bunch of shitty reviews when it came out and blah blah blah. Who cares. A great little film by a director who really has nothing to prove after making "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance". |

Planning on burning DVD's of movies I own on VHS and then selling the VHS. I'm kinda thinking it's pointless in a way since I have VHS that are nearly 30 years old that work and play GREAT (also, I don't really care about special features and commentaries and all the shit usually on DVD's). I just have OCD and it's bugging me. But then I think again and DVD's (especially burnt ones) will probably deteriorate faster than VHS tapes. So, I've decided, I'm not going to convert my whole vhs collection, because that'd take forever and actually be next to impossible considering I have so many tapes that aren't even available on DVD. But I'll definitely burn the classics (Rock N Roll Nightmare, Tenebre, Street Trash, Body Melt, Slime City, Fat Guy Goes Nutzoid; all the classics).
